I agree, its not a horrible conference, but the reason I speak out against it is because im fucking sick of every time i click the forum theres 25 new copy/paste articles about the shit that i have to wade through. And from what I can tell thats Whormoans main gripe about it too.
The funny thing is the energy he devotes is overcompensated by 3 or so people bashing on him with just as much if not more energy, yet they get a pass because no one snitched on them. So is that what this forum has come to? Ive seen other forums go straight to shit once you get into snitching battles.

The college forum is the Pac-1 forum and you are exactly right about the fact that it isn't the conference I can't stand but rather the people who blindly hype it over and over and over again. More than that, the Pac-10 is a non-entity nation wide, yet here it is front and center. I am one person who (correctly) puts the sorry conference back in its place but I am far outnumbered. And yes, Conan's snitching to Wilhelm (after he threatened to do so to me many times as if that would stop me from posting) had the effect. Have you seen him once deny it? Paradise, the far sadder state of affairs that reflects the agenda of this place is the actions of the head moderator. That a 50 something yr old Pac-10 honk is a snicth is one thing. But one would expect a moderator to show better judgement. Not only does he first ban me (as if it's stopped anything), he encourages and awards snitching. He shows no objectivity in that my posts were no different or more frequent than those attacking me (most of my attacks were retaliatory anyways), yet I was banned because "he had a larger file of comaplints on me over the last 2 yrs than any other poster". Hmmmmm. I wonder why that might be. Maybe because I'm the only one who puts our 25 resident Pac-10 cheerleaders back into reality. Have you ever noticed how many threads have my name in the title? I was told that the nature of my posts is "driving people away" and hurting the bottom line. So it's the USC syndrome again. Don't punish them and hurt the bottom line of college football if they cheat. Look the other way and keep the pocket book lined.
The thread in question was called "rank the pac 10" and was a request by for input on ranking the Pac10 top to bottom. No where in the title did it say "rank the greatest conference" or "Pac10 Rules - let's rank 'em!"
My guess is about 1/7 of the country lives within a short drive of a Pac 10 school - so of course there is going to be interest and continous threads whether they are great or not.
If you keep injecting yourself into civil discussions about ranking with nothing but insults - and low and behold the mods get fed up with complaints and kick you to the curb - you can't honestly be that surprised. It's a forum, not a call in radio show. There's always room for a new thread in the RR for those who hate a team/conference/sport whatever.
Oh - and it was funny to see Conan try and claim he wrote some bi-polar flame belch that's been circulating the net for years. Wow, at least claim to be the guy who came home from holidays and found the nasty ass toothbrush photos or something. For a guy with a cabinet full of patents - you could have invented something better than that.

1) did you see a "rank the Mt West" thread or a "rank the ACC"? It's non-stop Pac-10 propaganda in there that is not proportionate.
2) go back and examine the thread and see who insults who first.
3) Why are people (or person) complaining to Moderators. Are they unable to post their opinions? Are we in 1st grade?
4) My being banned had nothing to do with that particular thread.
5) There's room in the rubber room for those who "hate a team/conference/ etc...", yet there is plenty of room in the college football forum for those who slobber over a player or team. Whats the difference?
Proportionate? Since when did theRX become a fair use forum for every school? I'm guessing the "Rank the Mt. West" threads are buried next to all the Twins or Rangers playoff rally threads for this year.
I guess if you're unable to contain your distaste and absolutely feel the need to prove that everyone is stupid and only you see things clearly, then you wouldn't see a difference.
As far as who insulted first -- in a thread which people are ranking a conference top to bottom, your first input was "

It can't be healthy to be wound so tight and angry about something as insignificant as this that you obsess over it like you're defending the honor of the flag or something.
Or threatening to kill someone. If I was the snitch Conan is, someone might have the police at their door. Imagine if the shoe was on the other foor. As far as me defending the honor, you're joking right. You would think all our west coast homers have family members on these teams the way they react when you douse their party with reality.
