Bemusing Fun Fact - "Addict" Barman has only toked once in the past 17 weeks - easily the longest period of abstention for me since 1976.

My supplier of past nine years has been out of the country for that time period, but is returning in two weeks.

Damn Festus! Why dont you start the Texas Taliban since you want to meddle in the private lives of all you come across?

Punter,

In case you didn't realize this, the laws already exist in this country
which make marijuana a criminal offense. You can call the
police and justice system the Taliban if you like ass-clown.

You never answered the God Creating Marijuana question.

Meanwhile, 90% or more of my reasons for using cannabis at this time in my life are on the advice of my medical counselors - all licensed MDs.

It's certainly not for everyone, but for me it's far more beneficial than the use of heavy duty, truly addictive prescribed drugs which have far too many destructive side effects on my body.

Exactly! And how can anyone believe in creationism without being high off their ass to begin with.

They read it in a book, same book where one of the heros gets his direction from a burnning bush. Does that mean the bible only condones weed to the leaders?

And your religion of Darwinism believes we evolved from swamp goo,
or alien sperm. Hmm... who is the high one?

I'm not a pot user, but I'm glad that I have tried it. It's definitely something that needs to be tried, in order to be understood. All that I knew about it before was what my friends told me. "It's kind of like being drunk, but really nothing like it. You are just altered." Then I found out what they meant. It definitely unlocks parts of your brain that you didn't know existed. The best way I can describe it is that it unlocks your subconscious mind, and you begin to get in tune with what really goes on your mind. I dwelled on things and thought about things like I never have before. It was very enlightening. It also has a silly side, like short term memory loss. One time viking and I had smoked up and were discussing the NCAA tournament. We knew that Ga Tech played Kansas, but we couldn't remember who Kansas played. LOL.

One thing I can definitely say is beneficial about pot. It is the best pain killer around. If I ever start having chronic pain, I wouldn't hesitate to smoke pot. All in all, a fairly harmless drug. I think chronic use definitely has bad effects. But a safer drug than alcohol, and no reason for it to be illegal, IMO.

Can only figure ZIT is either very bored tonight, or perhaps he's attending "JoeC" training courses

ZIT proclaims:

SH: ZIT, in case you didn't realize this, virtually no one who enjoys the responsible use of marijuana pays any attention whatsoever to those laws.

Many New Testament scholars astutely conclude that among other NT notables, John The Baptist was clearly a user of herbal psychedelics. Based on the limited information we have of his time in the desert, it's likely a variation of peyote or other cactus whose use can stimulate strong spiritual and psychic visions.

Ignored, until they get arrested, and put in jail.

Ignored, while their brain turns to mush-mush.

Fun Fact #1 - All the marijuana addicts I knew growing up
turned out to be total losers in life.

ILLINI, your testimonial is very similar to that of millions of other Americans.

Salvia is way more dangerous than marijuana to me.

Guess which one is perfectly legal?

Marijuana user since 19 years old, now 28, still using and working in the county library, decent pay, benefits and respect from my peers for being a sharp mind (in other words, NO, your brain doesn't turn to mush mush..lol). i smoke 3 times a day and NO ONE is the wiser. piss off with your misappropriated Christian right wing blame.

the reason it is illegal is what Barman said...no one is up and ready to shoot a gun at a foreign enemy and my theory has always been that the gov't is aware that marijuana doesn't make one spring out of bed in the morning and say, "let's smoke, then go contribute in a pedestrian 9 to 5 way so that we can boost this capitalist economy!!!!"

Based on the ZIT post Quoted above, sounds like he's hung around a lot of Losers in life.

The fun part is that unbeknownst to him, there's numerous very successful happy people within his current circle of influence who enjoy responsible marijuana use.

But he's unaware of it because they likely are aware of his prejudice and politely refrain from letting him be aware of their use.

98% of marijuana users - most over the age of 21 - are more than aware of how to enjoy marijuana use without ever having to fear arrest by police.

Now that I think about it, we may have just added another component to ZIT's Greatest Nightmare

His kid reaches adulthood, invites Dad over to introduce his gay lover AND they're smoking a doobie when ZIT arrives.

Could be her best friend.

The reason she invited Festus over was to hit him up for a loan for her abortion, seems that Zits preacher raped her.
