its tough to judge what someone should say in the heat of the moment, i cant imagine being in a situation like that, they had another country act that went on before him and he kinda said the same thing you dont know if you should duck for cover or run or what. your brain is probably moving at a million miles an hour and its probably impossible to think with any sense of clarity

one of the deceased is from the outskirts of boston, 42 year old wife with a 7 year old daughter. was there with her husband, daughter and father in a law, they had left and she was there with her husband and was killed. cant imagine what that poor guy has to face in the coming days, weeks, months and years. awful just awful

Aldean wasn't sure exactly what was going on but I'd think if he told everyone to run that people could have died from the stampede. Hard to know for sure what to say when you have to react quickly in the moment.

As far as motive the guy wanted to go out in a blaze of glory and take as many people with him as possible. Whether it be relationship issues, depression, $$ issues, or he's just plain evil and always dreamed of doing something like this, we'll probably learn more later. As awful as this was quite frankly it's a miracle the guy didn't kill 500 people given how many people were in such a tight space with nowhere to go for cover.
