If that were 100% true... Then so what?
If you are vaxxed you are protected right? At a "very high degree" right? So what do you or anyone else care if unvaxxed people (who made the decision on their own) get sick? It's the risk they took. They knew the risks before they made the decisision to not take it.
Can't have it both ways. The vax either works great or it doesn't. If it does, the vaxxed should STFU and mind their own business. They have nothing to worry about. If it doesn't work that well, then why the hell are people being mandated to take it?
Can't have it both ways.
Devil's advocate here:
What if enough people are suffering severely from COVID and are hospitalized, and this is affecting treatment access for people who need to go to the hospital for other reasons?
What if the unwillingness to get the vaccine is preventing things to get back to normal for people are vaccinated? Wouldn't vaccinated people have a legitimate reason to care about others being vaccinated?
Would mandating the vaccine solve these problems? Maybe, maybe not. We don't fully know. But it's fair to have the view that all people should get vaccinated, just like it's fair to have the view that mandates are bullshit.
As far what we truly know about the vaccine:
-vaccinated people can still get COVID
-vaccinated people can still get sick from having COVID
-you're way less likely to have bad symptoms or die from COVID if you are vaccinated
-there is no evidence the vaccines cause fertility issues
-adverse side effects are generally rare
In my view, it's better to take the vaccine than not. I think we know enough to say the benefits outweigh the risks
I also fully respect people to make a personal decision and not take the vaccine. I also think it's legitimate to believe everyone should be required to get it
