I am adding a new game for Saturday:
5* Mississippi St -6.5
The Bulldogs are going to be a much improved team this year. Croom is coaching them with an intensity Sherrill lacked the last couple of years. The team will tell you that they basically didn't care the last part of last season, and you might recall that I faded them in each of those games. I won my GOY against Miss St last year. This year you will see an entirely different team. QB Omarr Conner is starting his first season at his natural position, but he was the Mississippi POY in high school and a prolific offensive leader. He is a talented athlete who can run and throw. He has a talented and experienced OL protecting him, and RB Jerious Norwood was a Parade All-American out of high school. The WRs are adequate, and Tulane has no idea what to expect from Croom's newly installed West Coast offense. The Bulldogs will be salty on defense, led by 300 pound senior DT Ron Fields and 6-4, 295 DE Dejuan Robinson, another former Parade All-American. LBs Marvin Byrdson and Clarence McDougal, as well as safeties Darren Williams and Quinton Culberson, complete the brigade of Parade All-Americans on the team. Needless to say, State is more talented than almost anyone gives them credit for. Tulane, on the other hand, has some key injuries for this game, including talented WR Roydell Williams. Their DL is banged up as well. State is 5-1 SU and ATS in the last 6 vs Tulane, including 3-0 ATS in Starkville. Tulane is 5-11 ATS in their last 16 non-conference games. Miss St should have no problem covering the TD spread in this game, starting off the Croom era with an impressive victory.
