DBLDN--Do not think 5DIMES was taking a shot with you, however I do believe that maybe your ticket was subjected to some sort of software glitch either on your end or more than likely on 5DIMES end.

Without question, 5DIMES is not taking a shot and they did not try and "jobb" you.

The best recourse for any and everybody is to make sure you write your tickets number down whereever you should choose to play at.

Not only did I not confirm bet on 1 occasion, about 5 years ago I inadvertently bet a 1st half line instead of full game.

I forget the teams, but I took a 28 pt fav that won by 40+. Problem was they were only up by 7 at halftime.

Does anybody ever WIN when making a mistake?

Thanks for the assistance Newport, however, they researched it for 2-3 hours and said it wasn't there, since it was so small I am not going to go crazy about it. I already withdrew my money from them. I appreciate the advice though. Just remember to write down the ticket numbers in the future, I know I will.

I changed the title here to be more fair/accurate, as 5Dimes has a solid reputation, and calling them thieves/jobbers, when VERY LIKELY a mistake was made submitting a bet, i think is a little unfair.....

I will forward a link to this to 5 Dimes, in case they care to comment...

Good luck

I print mine now!!!

I will say that in the evening Tony does not have the highest of intellectual staff manning his fort, but I still say that if it was in review bets...it is there!!! And if TONY was not involved in the 2-3 hours of research, then you were dealing with someone with at least 50% less ability and know how then Tony. SO if you want that money, then it is there....and Tony will find it!!

No problem changing the title, maybe it was written with too much emotion on my part. FYI, I posted it in NFL, NCAA football, and Baseball too make sure everyone knew what happened and to write down their tickets in the future. If you think it doesn't belong there please delete it. Thanks.

Did it disappear from 5 dimes too? If it was, 5dimes, I see a pattern here.

Dont think anyone is disputing that its ALWAYS a good idea to print ticket numbers, or copy the page of "pending bets" anywhere you play....

Just seems very odd, and out of character for 5 Dimes to try and steal a 275.00 winner, from a long time customer, that was the dispute....It is ALWAYS possible that there was a glitch in the software, and you would assume if they searched it for 2-3 hours, that they couldnt find it...

Since you are lingering on the amount BucsFan, consider this, maybe they know of a software glitch that they have, I am not saying it was intentional on their part, not at all. I just know it happened and it seems to have happened before, maybe they have a software glitch that they cannot find and has cost others before. Maybe since it was small they didn't put allot of effort into it and they didn't want to admit their software was faulty for such a small bet.

Yep, sounds like others have been burned by their software and the only way to protect yourself is by printing your wagers. I am going with Pinny or Olympic so I can save my paper and ink and I don't have to worry about my wagers.

Not "lingering" on the amount DB, just saying it would be odd for a book to "jobb" you , as you put it, over a small wager....if they were gonna risk jobbing soemone, you would think it would be over a 5,000.00 parlay or something bigger, that was my point.....

I have forwarded a copy of this to them, by the way, hopefully we will hear from them....

They probably didn't job me, but from at least 2 others now, it seems they might have a software glitch, especially with others recommending as highly as I do to print your wagers with them. It now makes sense,, they asked me to fax them the printed wager page if I had it, I told them I didn't have it. Looks like they already have a procedure in place for when this happens which seems to make me think that they know of the software problem.

As many have you have already said in this thread...

No ticket number = No change in account balance = No bet

Once a wager has been placed into the 5Dimes system, a ticket number is generated. That ticket remains listed in the customer's account for review at any time. It does not matter if the ticket is voided, is no action, is a winner, or is a loser... the ticket always appears on review bets. The ticket cannot disappear under any circumstances. Also, the specific account transcation can be viewed by the customer on the internet. The account transaction audit will show:
The exact time the ticket is confirmed
The account balance at the time of the bet
The account balance after the bet was confirmed

These is no such thing as a "glitch" in the system. It has never happened. And I mean never. When money comes out of an account for any reason, there is an account transaction audit of the money coming out of the account. Along with that transaction record, there is a ticket number issued on the bet.

Thank you Rx for changing the title of the thread, and thank you forum for your support with this issue.
