Hall of Fame forward Elgin Baylor, who followed his illustrious playing career with a decades-long tenure as LA Clippers general manager, has died at the age of 86.
Baylor died of natural causes Monday and was surrounded by his wife, Elaine, and his daughter, Krystal, the Los Angeles Lakers said in a statement.

I have Wilt at the end since this is a Greatest Lakers list. The majority of Wilt's best years were before he came to LA.

Lebron doesn’t qualify I guess as he’s only playing the tail end, but he is the best player to ever play for the Lakers. Would probably say Magic or Kareem is the best Laker ever

Kobe is/was great but the Lakers 3-peated primarily because of Shaq who was unstoppable.

Don't forget he went to three Finals and won 2 of them after Shaq was gone. You could say, well he had Gasol then. Well yeah. Super Stars rarely can do it alone without other big stars helping. Look at all the great dynasty teams. There were always 3-4 stars/2-3 future HOFers on their teams.

Magic had Worthy and Kareem. Two other HOFers to make him look great. And countless very good role players that were vital to their success. Michael Cooper, Byron Scott, Kurt Rambis, Mychal Thompson, etc.

Yup. With Wade, another 1st ballot HOFer. Both Shaq and Kobe were great.

But Kobe went to 3 more Finals without Shaq. Shaq could only get to one without Kobe. And Shaq had a way better #2 than Kobe did after they left each other.

Duane Wade >>>> Pau Gasol.

Not sure I'd mention Rambis as even "very good." lol

Points4,603 (5.2 ppg)
Rebounds4,961 (5.6 rpg)
Assists931 (1.1 apg)

FTR, I didn't say he was very good player (in general). I said Rambis was a very good role player. That guy was in there to hustle, pester, and grab rebounds. And he was very good at those roles.
