Yea, no way the Niners get off of Lance and Purdy. Purdy was a QB stud. You fill 'till he returns.

Only way i see Rodgers staying in GB is if he finds his only option is Jets and him not wanting to play there...This would probably mean Vegas chose Brady over him which i highly highly doubt they would do. Unless for some reason Davante is dead set against playing with Rodgers again----i don't believe this would be an issue though.

Then I would guess him and Packers work on a deal to restructure his contract to make it work.

Packers would still be a contender if they stand pat with Rodgers. Receivers improved 2nd half of the season, Rodgers thumb wasn't right for several weeks , OL was banged up , and the defense which was supposed to be top 5 , had alot of injuries. Just a bad year all the way around. It happens. I could see a big rebound next year

If they have a monster draft and Rodgers has a bounce back year then they can be in the mix in the weak NFC

But being "full strength", at least when it matters much, isn't really possible

17 million over the cap.

I don't think they want to gut the team deeper to keep him and hope.

Spent a 1st rounder on Love. Probably time to see if they/he will sink or swim. But yeah. It's a risk. Wouldn't shock many if Rodgers was back in the MVP conversation next season.

Teams sometimes have to swallow their pride and move on from first round picks

At this point I would just play him

Coming off a pretty serious injury though, I don't know. Offseason of coaches studying him too, might regress a little bit

I think they would've started out with Lance even if Purdy was healthy -- unless Purdy got to/won Super BOwl

I'm shocked the 9'ers didn't try something outside the box

They essentially just quit on offense, which I'm not complaining about

Yea. I was stunned too. There's always a couple of baseball position players on every team who think they can pitch and I'll bet there are a couple of guys on that Niner team who think they can throw. Hell there are probably a couple of ex QBs on that roster playing other positions. They were down 21-7. There is no way the Niners were gonna make up that deficit by making every play a running play. They HAD to try someone else under center.

But they didn't. Just essentially gave up when they put Purdy back in.

Not only that...But they huddled after every play and snapped the ball every time with 7 seconds or less on the play clock.

Exactly like you said---why not throw a position player out there at QB and just see what happens.

Looked like they were gonna try with McCaffery.

Kyle Juszczyk was going to be the other option

Shanahan has trust issues when it comes to QB.

Think he thought their only shot was try to run ball, shorten game, and somehow get some good breaks on defense.Obviously running ball was going to become too predictable

If Purdy were 2 inches taller, he probably would go in the early 3rd. 3 inches taller, early 2nd.... He is a Chad Pennington

Brady to SF comment was kinda kidding. Think Brady is one year too late at this point

Both Brady and Rodgers are undesirable at this point. Both regressed quite a bit, though Rodgers a little more so IMO

Niners realistically should want neither of them if they are confident in Lance
I wouldn’t be kidding here.

brady grew up a niners fan and is from the bay area. Parents still there.

I think this has legs

the kicker is his kids will probably be in Miami

Green Bay doesn’t want to trade him to an NFC team

Sounds like BS, he’s gonna be 40 and they’re rebuilding. Doubt they care if he’s on a nfc team as long as that team has the best offer

Agree brady to SF is very live, we’re talking a guy a year removed from a mvp caliber season vs Brock purdy

You make it sound as if it's Brady's choice....

Niners will have 0 interest in doing this for multiple reasons.

Vegas, Jets or his only options. Going to be rough for him if he wants to continue playing with Rodgers available also...I believe Rodgers will be more appealing to these teams than Brady.

Why i believe Brady returns to Tampa---if he wants to keep playing.
