The match is a no play for me, but if I had to lean to someone I would lean to Srichy. I want to see a little more of Becker on a weekly basis and I think that Srichy is a pretty good price in todays match, but not enticing me enough to open my wallet. Always wary of tourny's the week before Masters Series events, although neither player will be favoured enough next week to not want to diminsh their chances by going deep this week.

Obviously with the Clement/Bagh match there has to be a huge query over Baggy. If both players were fit then Baggy would be -250 in my book. His recent injuries and Clement playing at home obviously give Clement a good chance, but if Baggy is close to fit he would be too good and great value. But that is a huge IF.

Sorry for my sitting on the fence, but both games are too close to call and have too many variables for me to tip anyone strongly.

Thats why they are both about even odds. These are the tough matches to call. Thats where us tennis gurus have to make our mark.

Lets go Becker.

And if that parlay hits that will be frosting.

But odds are slim to none!

Too true MadCapper,

If Baggy wasnt under the injury cloud I would declare him as a good thing to beat Clement and a fantastic price, but the injury cloud and his October form sucks. He struggled to beat claycourter Ramirez-Hidalgo on carpet before getting beaten by Koubek and Safin, while Clement amde the 1/4s in Moscow but had a very easy draw, beating too lowly ranked Russkies before being beaten by Kunitsyn. The computer program that I use has Baghdatis as a 3/1 favourite although on very little data for the surface.

I leant to Srichy in the other match for reasons that I stated previously, although my program has Becker as a -150 on very little data for carpet.

In the WTA match, there was huge money in the last 30 minutes for Tamira Paszek to beat Nathalie Dechy. Dechy went from -133 to pick 'em in the last 30 mins of betting.

Good luck guys, and again sorry for any splinters from sitting on the fence.

Damn Becker.

He breaks Paradorn. Then has a chance for another break and blows it. Then he gets broken and now is down 4-5 in the first.

madcapper-- you said you neded up going with Becker +1.5, you took both?

syd, we were right about Clement and Paradorn, too bad i didn't take 'em (hope you did!!), good grief. Paradorn OVER would have been an easy winner, my outs don't have that option, very frustrating. Not to mention 5d is getting worse and worse with their tennis department. I think Gamesbookers offers that, do you use them

havign said that, thk goodness i bailed on The Magician at +5.5....Davy ripped him again........:puppy:

No I didnt touch those games that we discussed, there were too many variables involved for me. As I might have said previously, I generally dont bet that often after the US Open and if I do I look for a bit of value, or will play the set betting option if I see a favourtie that has been bet against.

I predominantly use Pinny and Betfair. I love betting in the run on Betfair and there are a lot of squares there who seem to be quite clueless and who put far too much emphasis on break points and service breaks, etc, especially in the womens tennis.

I played two treble's today. Haas TO Gonzalez TO Henman- Tommy and Fernando should be plenty motivated with Shanghai around the corner and time running out. Lots of juice on that parlay tho, oh well, lol. Second one nearly even juice-Acasuso TO Daniilidou TO Soderling. This latter one isnt as strong, but good enough for me. Lyon is playin FASTER than Madrid which will make either a Montanes or Massu upset even less likely. Robin, in addition, is playing his best tennis of his 2006 campaign.

Plenty of juice involved in that parlay Hope, but you should get the choclates without too many dramas. At least you are betting on good players who are worthy of being that short. I would rather lay -550 about Tommy Haas than Daniele Bracciali, at least Haas has plenty of class about him. In some of these smaller tournys its amazing what prices some people will take about some of these favourites.

yep syd, agree. I don't mind laying big juice ona parlay BUT it will have to be on quality...nto the likes of Melzer, etc, lol

madcap-- that Hidalgo +3.5 looks attractive. If he plays anywhere near like he has recently on indoor hardcourt I thinnk he can take a set off that underachieving F Lopez. BUT since, 2001 Hidalgo is 0-6 on carpet. Carpet is trypically faster than indoor hard.

what you guys thing about Hrbaty? why is he the dog?? huh??

There has been a little money against Wawrinka and Tursonov this morning. I dont bet in Max Mirnyi matches as a rule and I do have a soft sport for Tursonov, so that is a double reason for me not to bet there. The Dlouhy/Gulbis match is a tough one as both players find themselves in the rarified air of a second round match at an ATP tournament. Dlouhy is more known as a clay courter although his record on carpet is 17-13, but his form this year has been terrible. Gulbis carpet form is very strong at 35-13, although prior to beating Vik in the first round his form sucked. I just cant take -170 about a guy who loses a lot more matches than he wins i.e Dlouhy

I lean to Sluiter over Kubot due to Sluiters far superior faster court form. He is 59-24 on carpet as opposed to Kubot's 13-8. Kubot did beat Grosjean earlier in the month though, while Sluiter was seeded #1 and made the final of a challenger tourny at his last start.

Hrbaty ( 44-32 carpet ) does have a definite class edge on Gicquel ( 11-8 )and I cant see why he isnt favourite. Gicquel's recent form has been good and he did make the 4th rnd of th US Open ( although beating Gaudio and Ferrero ) and he made the semis in Metz a couple of weeks back. Perhaps because he is playing in his home country is why there is a lean towards him, but Hrbaty has the class edge and did beat another Frenchman in the 1st rnd here even though he was bet against.

not an easy day for tennis. Liines and match-ups aren't the best. I played my 2 trebles and MAY play Hrbaty (available at pinny for +102).

madcapper-- Volandri +4.5? On anything outside clay , Volandri has proven, of late to be a useless fuck. BUT, Chela plays a similar game, i dont think Chela can over-power him. And Chela certainly doesnt have a big serve to take advantage of the speed of this surface. I dont have a fuckin' clue how this match will end......:puppy:

Tursy?--like syd said, LOTS of folks on Max. I dont knwo why. The season ending doubles championship is around the corner, which has to be on Max's mind. Motivation, does anyone have an edge here? Gun to my head, i'd take Tursy.

......wish i took Ivanovic....lol
