The DeAndre Hopkins free-agency sweepstakes could be coming to an end soon. Much like his market earlier in the offseason, when the Arizona Cardinals were attempting to trade him, it has been slow developing.
The Cardinals released Hopkins last month after no trade partner could be found. He was immediately connected to several teams, as he revealed which quarterbacks around the league he would like to play with.
Josh Allen, Jalen Hurts, Lamar Jackson, Justin Herbert and Patrick Mahomes were the players that DeAndre Hopkins mentioned. Alas, none of those teams seriously got involved in pursuing him even after he hit the open market.
However, it does sound as if a decision about where Hopkins will be playing in 2023 is getting near. According to Diana Russini of ESPN, he has narrowed his choices down to the Tennessee Titans and New England Patriots. However, she did caution this isn’t something that will get done instantly as the former All-Pro wide receiver is going to take his time.
