I'm being lenient this year as I have been in the college game. I know the Vegas rules say game must be played by Tuesday of the following week to be applied toward contest standings or contestant will receive 0 points for that game, however, I am awarding a replacement pick if there is still time in the current week or a replacement pick the following week. I feel that's fair considering the unstable situation that exists this year.

That's all fine and dandy. What is the point in furthering the discussion on a decision that has been made by the person running the contest? If anyone was risky enough to wait until the deadline to take the Chiefs kudos to them. There is still risk in waiting when people have a wife, kids and life getting in the way. Next thing you know you forgot to make your pick.

This is no different than a star player getting hurt in practice on a Thursday or Friday and being ruled out of.the game that week. If you've already made your pick in that scenario than you never got a replacement pick. And if you wait till Saturday to place picks than you get to take advantage of it. I understand covid is making things hard this year. But it's the same scenario. That's just part of the contest, has been since it was started.
