tim. regarding the 2009 pitchers there were a couple of questions i had regarding some of the a b stuff. look back at my post after you posted it. just need to know so i make sure i put the correct info into the 2009 db

tks

My bad pops. They're just different types of FAs.

Class A is ranked in the top 20 percent of players at his position. A team that signs a Type A player gives its top draft pick to the club that the player is leaving and they also receive a supplemental pick in the "sandwich" round between the first and second rounds.

Class B is ranked below the top 20 percent but in the top 40 percent of players at his position. A team that loses a Type B player receives a supplemental pick, but the signing team does not lose a pick.

why would an ump be considered a waldo in one leauge but not the other?

Also i read one statement that i want to clarify, you said that a pitcher switching from the National to the American Leauge can expect his ERA to drop about a point?? Is that correct or do i have it backwards?

that's ass backwards if i said it that way

it should be from al to nl where u expect the 1 point drop in era. the very low era pitchers are an exception like halladay from tor to phil

use the 2010 era and whip info

starting next month that's all i plan to put on the pdws.

is anyone using the data dump on the bottom of the pdws vs using the master. let me know as i plan to drop that info as well. too many copy paste specials can lead to mo errors

It's nice having it, but if you want to drop, then go for it, The information is available in the masters.

k. let me do a time check tomorrow and see how much that adds to the task vs a straight 2010. i know the most work is doing the cons games at home and on the road

If anyone is open to sharing a script for data mining, please PM out of the thread. Thanks.

what are u trying to mine?

Last 5 years of umps, specific weather (i.e. humidity, temp and wind direction/speed), and game results. I can match it up with o/u and line data.

A lot of the info is found in your stuff pops, but I'd like to incorporate a bit of park factor into it and go back further than 2009.

I can probably figure it out myself, but it might require learning Perl, and not sure i want to invest all that time.

Is it me or do the prices this year on fav's seem higher than in past years? Something I've noticed since the start of bases this year. Seems like alot more -180 + higher fav's than in past years.
