That's one thing I've never tried YAA, and that's to middle. Do you ever try that? It's seems damn near impossible. I feel nervous over $100 bets, thus the reason I bet (the excitement and adrenaline).

Well, there are different ways of approaching a middle bet. One way is to intentionally try for one --usually by betting one side very early in the week in expectation the line will climb, then getting a higher number on the opposite later -- I always keep an eye out for these, but try for them usually no more than three or four times a season. I've hit two middles this year, both involving Ball State (vs. Kent State and vs. Central Michigan).

But in this case you'd really be just buying back some portion of an existing bet in order to give yourself some peace of mind, but with the added bonus of an outside shot at hitting the middle. With Ball State winning exactly by the non-key number of 15 you know it's exceptionally unlikely to come through, but there's always a chance.

if you're down at 14 buy it up to 16 before it's too late .
14 push
15 win, win
16 push

this is you're best approach. it will be down to 14 or 13 1/2 by kickoff

FWIW ............
Ball State is a deserved double digit favorite, yet is only 4-3-1 ATS in this role. The Cardinals have hammered Buffalo a combined 104-39 the previous two seasons, however this is a different Bulls team that is 6-0 ATS as an underdog in 2008.

Thanks for the pick BB ....hope all is well.

I wouldn't advise buying anything to reach 16. Neither 15 nor 16 are likely to be a final margin of victory, you'd just be risking extra juice with very little chance of it making a difference.

For the record, I like Ball chances to win by at least 20 tonight. They just turned down an invitation to play Boise in the Humanitarian Bowl (understandably so, as that would be like voluntarily playing an extra road game), so this is their big chance in the spotlight. They don't feel confident they could beat Boise, but they'll try and make an impression by piling on the points tonight, I expect. I think this and I've loved betting Buffalo as a dog all season.

Elite programs don’t cower in corners when faced with a challenge, which is exactly what Ball State did Wednesday when it declined an invitation to play Boise State in the Humanitarian Bowl. (taken from the article on yahoo) just google it if you wanna read it

I'm on the Over for sure.

If I choose a side, it will be BS -14.5
I think both teams show up ready to play and score at will keeping the game close until BS starts pulling away in the late 3rd and 4th quarters'

I also heard BS' QB might want to enter the NFL draft so this is a chance for him to shine.

BS by 17 imo

Bingo. They were scared to play Boise, plain and simple. That game would have put Ball State on the map, helped with recruiting and made them legitimate, win or lose. And who knows, a lucky bounce here or there and they may pull off a huge upset.

It would be the equivalent of Boise passing up the BCS bid against OK. It put Boise on the map and look what happened, they won.

Not quite the equivalent of Boise passing up a BCS game against Oklahoma. More like Boise passing on a non-BCS bowl game against a team the caliber of West Virginia or Boston College...played on that team's home field.

Ball State can give all the reasons they want why they turned down a Humanitarian Bowl invitation, but the bottom line is they aren't confident of a win there and for various reasons -- not the least of which is recruiting -- want to put together an undefeated season. But that's all the more reason I feel confident in the Ballers winning handily tonight. If they so badly want to finish 14-0 they're also going to want to do it in a way they feel is impressive, and blowing out the opponent in a conference championship is a major bragging point.

Buffalo is a very scrappy team, but I don't see their defense being able to run with the Ball offense all night. And the Cardinals will keep pushing hard all four quarters. They'd love nothing more than to run up about a 30-point win then coast to the finish of their "perfect" season in the No Name Bowl against some 7-4 opponent that finished second in the Pissant Conference.

Ball State is overated. there defense is mediocore. Buffalo wins outright in an upset by a field goal. Im taking the 15 pts to the bank. BOL. though

You do realize Ball State's defense is 10th in the nation in scoring defense and 57th in yards allowed, don't you? Compared to conferencemate Buffalo at 78th and 94th.
