Around 5k people mods start inviting you to their house. At 7500 people started trusting me to hold funds.

I assume I'm like automatically a mod now. I dunno.

So I'm 10 posts away from meeting Rachel or/and been thrown to the pool? Damn.

Holy Fuck (GBS). I didn't know that. You think it had anything to do with the insane amount of alcohol you put in your body?

Nah. Just random.

They did say that if I had been actively drinking the way I was just 3 months prior I would have died for sure. My body wouldn't have been able to handle alcohol w/d with the blood pressure fluctuations the GBS was causing.

I don't remember you talking about that when I was posting as donkeybucks. Retired that username btw just because I hated it and wanted a different handle. I don't ghost and I'm sure BAS can verify that for you all. He even knows my legal name and address for when I entered the college football contest last year. About your near-death experience I was thinking you had an experience where you saw the light and past relatives. Pretty bad ordeal you went through and scary!

I know it probably don't matter much to you but you could have got BAS to change your name and keep your post count and join date from the other name with the new name.

Actually they can still do that.

Yeah I do remember that being said but just decided to start new anyways. Not hiding who I was before but since I retired that username and not using it I consider it not ghosting. Oddly enough it was at the same time I talked with Harry on here at that time and discussed about quitting drinking. Harry is actually the one who got the momentum pushed and inspired me to get on the path of getting off the alcohol. I tell my wife I haven't quit but rather just taking a break from it. So far it's been 6 months. I've never told Harry that, I don't think, but I credit my sobriety so far to him pretty much.

Awesome to hear that you're doing well my man. All credit goes to you, and none should go to me.

I hear you on the mentality of taking a break vs quitting; it makes it much easier to swallow knowing you can still go back someday.

The way I always looked at it was that I would just give sobriety a chance. First for 3 months, then when I got to 3 it was 6, then when I got to 6 months I resolved to make it to a year, and so on. If I didn't like it I could always go back. So far at each milestone I've determined that I am happier without the booze and decided to continue on. That, in my opinion, is the only way someone can truly make the change for life - to determine for themselves that they are happier without it. And if you can honestly say to yourself that you'd be happier with it, then I don't fault you one bit for going back. Just a personal decision, that's all.

Best of luck.

Haha nothing that cool.

Re: the donkeybucks thing...I hadn't put that together yet. Good to see you back. Funny enough when I was starting this thread, your farewell thread came to mind where you mentioned everybody. Good stuff.

Thanks Harry and for your sincerity. Life's been good without it.
