I've personally witnessed a trained adult male German Shepherd guard dog absolutely wreck a person that tried to attack him.

A German Shepherd that feels threatened, will go into kill mode and will never let your thumbs get close to poke the eyes. If anything, your hand/arm is done.

I never thought about breaking limbs, but good point on dropping 200lbs on a dog leg.....although I think it moves so fast to drop a clean strike would be very fast....think of them playing tug of war with you and how much they wiggle.

My brother is a K9 Cop whose dog happens to be a German Shepard. I think I know and have seen a thing or two...

I'd love to see someone choke out an attacking dog. Why don't the criminals just think of that easy move when police dogs are all up in their shit? You'll never grab that thing's neck, it's not like a human with an enormous dome, that dog will just back up and slip out of your hold in half a second.
