You mean a non-SEC team is allowed to become a Champion?

Man, I'm still pissed the leaders in this conference didn't pursue FSU when they were having some issues with the ACC. Big mistake for the Big 12. The problem with this conference is the powers that be just aren't very forward thinking. They seem to think a 10 team conference has a future because they share a bigger slice of the pie. Very dumb.

it actually almost happened, FSU was in but the Big 12 needed another firm commitment from either Miami or Clemson. Miami at first didn't like the idea, but then warmed up to it, but at that point it was too late. Clemson wanted to join as well, but only with Miami and not FSU.

i wouldn't be shocked if the Big 12 tries this again at some point, but the more likely outcome is either the merging of the Big 12 and ACC, or for the Big 12 to just add Houston and Cincinnati.. the latter at least gets the CCG back. another huge mistake was taking WVU instead of Louisville, especially considering Jurich practically begged to be accepted.

I'm not very crazy about bringing in commuter schools like Louisville or Houston. The Big 12 has missed out on the blueblood schools, which is what we needed since we lost Nebraska and Texas A&M. And to a smaller extent Mizzou.. The facts are the Big 12 entertained the thought of expansion to 12 teams, but were never serious enough about it to pursue it. And now they've painted themselves into a corner without a CCG. I don't really see any way out of it.

i hear ya, but at least Houston is a huge metropolis and Cincy would provide some reasonable proximity for WVU who's out there all alone which kills their recruiting. Houston is getting a new stadium (about the same size as Baylor's) and Cincy has a pretty decent stadium and fan support.

it's at the point now where the Big 12 either as to add two programs like them, or wait for the super conferences to form. it'll be extremely difficult for a 1-loss Big 12 team to make the playoffs w/o a CCG.

Didn't it seem a bit bizarre to anyone else to hear Auburn fans chanting SEC as their team was playing in the championship game? What does conference affiliation matter at that point?

I don't have a particular rooting interest in college. My only point of comparison as a Bears fan is that I was pleased last weekend when the Packers lost to the 49ers. Nothing besides a financial interest could get me to want the Packers to win.

Teams with longest consecutive bowl appearances EVERY YEAR (Top 3 are in the ACC out of the ENTIRE Country)

1.Florida State
2.Virginia Tech
3.Georgia Tech

.............Going to a Bowl Game is extremely normal for these 3 teams as their bowl streak is even longer than many brand name football teams.
