Peralta pitches a great game and the amazing Met's can score runs..... no way in hell I give out big time favorites (Mets -200) so we rolled on the run line and lost. Here's what I said about tonight's selection my friend.

I have to side with the Mets in this match up. There is no way you can back the Brewers with Wily Peralta on the mound. He has been a disaster with opponents batting an incredible .375 against him, and he has an 8.40 ERA in night games this season. Matz on the other hand has been solid, allowing only a combined 11 runs in his six starts so I think the Brewers will struggle to score runs, while the Mets offense should feast on Peralta. I would even consider taking the Mets on the run line to get more value.

The Milwaukee Brewers are:

Chicago had the edge on the mound in the first two games of the series with Arrieta and Lester. This one is tilted the Giants favor slightly: Bumgarner might have to do it all himself but the Giants get the victory.

I expect no more than five runs to be scored in this one. Walker has struggled in May in his career and while his ERA is 8.79 vs the A’s, we note that in two home starts vs them that ERA is at 4.09. Walker has a solid 3.03 ERA at home this year and he will be taking on a struggling A’s offense that is now missing their top power threat in Josh Reddick. The Mariners offense is nothing special at home, where they hit just .226 vs lefties and scored 3.72 rpg overall. Those number may not improve vs Rich Hill, who has been by far the A’s best starter as he comes in with a 2.34 ERA overall and a 1.74 ERA on the road. He also has a 1.83 ERA in three career starts vs the Mariners. I just don’t expect a ton of runs in this one, especially in a park that doesn’t yield a ton of them.

I am siding with the Blue Jays in this match up. Dickey has pitched well against the Yankees his whole career, and had a 2.48 ERA against them last season. Overall the Yankees offense has been stagnant and I don’t see them breaking out against a pitcher they have traditionally struggled against. They Jays hit two home runs against Eovaldi the first time they faced him and I think they can score some runs off him and get the win.

The Toronto Blue Jays are:

6-1 in their last 7 road games against a right handed starter.
8-3 in their last 11 games against the Yankees.
4-1 in Dickey’s last 5 road starts against a losing team.

The New York Yankees are:

1-4 in Eovaldi’s last 5 starts against the AL East.

The Nationals do hit lefties pretty well, but this is no ordinary lefty they will be facing. Steve Matz started the year off by allowing seven ERs in just 1.2 innings of work to Miami, but since then he has allowed six total ERs in six games, compiling an ERA of just 1.35 over that stretch. Matz also has a 2.18 ERA in seven career road starts and a 1.07 ERA in five career day starts, plus he also has the advantage of the Nationals having never faced him. He should shut this offense down. On the other side we have Tanner Roark, who has a career ERA of 3.06 vs the Mets and he has a 3.00 in five starts at home, with his home games averaging just 5.20 rpg. I just can’t see more than five runs being scored in this game.
