I had an account with WWTS years ago when they were phone-only. Did not like them at all. In this particular instance, they set themselves up for controversy by using a vague word like 'public'. If they are gonna offer a bet with this type of wording, it is their responsibility to monitor the situation. If rumors swirl, they can easily take the offering down (and also take it down overnight). This bet should be honored.

Frog: My Bad, I got my W's mixed up. I wasn't real pleased with WWTS, either ? I think they will pay standard bets, I just didn't love them, not betting there.

If books want to offer these silly non-event props (what team will trade for Joe Player, who will be the first NBA player to get arrested, etc), they need to roll with the punches and honor the bets.

Who determines when the trade goes "public"? Obviously, a press conference or press release would be considered "public". But what about a gossip columnist, such as Peter Vescey? Should every bet be cancelled just because Vescey says "I have sources who indicate there is a possibility that Shaq might be traded to Miami this summer, pending approval from Shaq and the respective teams. In other words, maybe Shaq will be traded to Miami, maybe he won't."

What about local radio, Internet forums, etc? When trades are finalized, they are rarely announced ASAP. It could be a couple hours (or days) until the press release. During this time, lots of people are going to learn about the trade before it goes "public".

Well spoke to manager Tommy. Sadly, I was not able to resolve it myself. So in FROG's guidelines, I did step one and two. The reason for not honoring, 1. It is a recreational bet. I was told it is for $20. bettors. 2. The wording on the prop, Shaq next season, Where will he start? No more action after it becomes public. Key ambiguous word, "it". What is it? A rumor, a maybe? Could happen. Even NBA.com front page says "possible" departure. He said that is my decision and I am not honoring it. So I asked, why was it still up? They forgot about it until I bet it. And why cancelled so much later, they checked the time of the bet and it was after "it" became public. OK. Not that I am some kind of high roller, but 300 is not worth getting bent out of shape over. But there is principle involved here. I know of many shops, that would honor it. I guess Ken/SHRINK or a mod could contact them and ask if that is their final answer...Best Wishes...OF

Actually this is a good test for the conflict resolution. I followed my own guidelines, clearly stated beef, and tried to deal with it myself.

Look at the NY Post naming on their frontpage Gephardt as Kerry's VP last week.

Wow Truth, go get'em. Actually, I think I would prefer to stick with FROG conflict guidelines. I hope a mod, or SHRINK can contact them through official channels and see what happens there. I appreciate your attack mode, but this is a forum exercise, the amount involved is not much, and I am a known poster, not a newbie ghost. I really have not lost 1 cent. But, as I stated, I think it is a valid bet, and should be honored. Plus, look at the top, paid advertiser. I would prefer to handle it within my guidelines, but thanks for the slam dunk offer. I was looking to add another out for the upcoming football season. I know WWTS is highly reputable and highly respected by the sports wagering industry.

That being said, I will no longer consider them after the bullshit excuse they pulled with you Frog. If they do it to you, they may being doing to other people as well, who do not know about this forum or any of the other major gambling forum web sites.

There are too many other books out there that pay on time and are just as highly respected to put up with the management poor excuse for cancelling your wager. After all, it was for only $300.00. A book that is scared is a book that I won't play with.

Well at first I said hell with this, and was going to empty account. But they would have no chance to make it right, and I always try to give books a second chance, in most cases. I trust General, and will stick with whatever decision all parties agree to. Like I said, this is a good exercise for the forum, I clearly and honestly stated facts, and I am not a newbie or a ghost. All taken care of, bet now honored. Probably lose it for all the trouble. Want my honest no shit assessment? If I was not a poster here, I would not have got anything. That is somewhat humbling for me. I think FROG's guidelines worked well, except I may have jumped the gun by posting what transpired, but I honestly wanted to know if anyone thought I should have bet honored. With 100% yes, I proceeded. General had it resolved within an hour. I never ranted or raved. Execise complete with 100% satisfaction by me. And I will repost at WWTS, especially for football. Thank You General, and RX staff for helping me out on this one. I want Shaq to sign soon, if he leaves Orlando without signing, it could be trouble. Lakers desperate to unload him.
