There is one reason why Stoops won't run it up if OU gets a comfortable lead. They have to go to Tennessee next year. And payback can be hell.I agree it makes no sense to have gameday in N. Dakota. As for the OK/Tenn game tonight, it will get ugly IMO. OK has every reason to run up the score and Vols are completely overmatched in the trenches on both sides of the ball. Vols have an immobile QB and a poor running game. It should be over before halftime. I've already taken OK -20.5.

Tell you the truth, I'm kinda sick of Stoops talking about the SEC. He needs to face the fact that they are the best conference in football. So what, one of their teams gets knocked off every now and then by a lesser conference team. It's still no reflection of having to play in that conference. I'm glad OU isn't playing in the SEC. As for this game, it would look good for the Sooners to blow them out. But OU is already a top 4 team. If they go undefeated it's not going to matter 10 weeks from now how close this game was, they'll be in the playoff. Now if OU loses a game this season that's another story. I'm still not very confident that OU will win big tonight. I've been hearing that talk all week. OU still has some very young skill players that haven't played a team with this skill level or speed yet. We don't know exactly how they will perform in their first big game.Tenn will still be a year or so away from a decent team next year. Other than Baylor, what other games does OK have left to impress the playoff committee. Plus a chance to back up his rhetoric about the SEC.
He might not intentionally run it up but they wont stop calling plays. It might happen naturally. I think Tenn folds like a cheap folding chair. There is one reason why Stoops won't run it up if OU gets a comfortable lead. They have to go to Tennessee next year. And payback can be hell.
