I kind of agree with the treatment angle. Bambi was dead. You can go out and shoot the deer, gut it,eat it, that's all OK, so deer murder is fine !
No real harm was done, no victim... however this behaviour is so unusual that the guy needs to be watched closely because he ain't quite right, jail probably makes him even more screwed up. I think maybe long term evaluation at a mental hospital is called for ? He does sound more insane than just plain criminal, and who knows where it goes next ?
