I tell my friends that this truth dissuades me greatly from (permanently) partnering up.
She chooses to be with me presumably because she wants me but the truth is that she chooses me because her preferred options are not available to her. And if they do become available she leaves me.
My friends say of course the vast majority of women (and men!) would leave for essentially their version of the bigger better deal when you're talking about celebrity looks, fame, wealth and power but that is not a good reason to shy away from marriage because it is not realistically going to happen. So even though she would prefer to be with someone else and not with you it shouldn't deter you because of the odds of that happening are very slim. IDK kinda sours it for me....
