if you wager on either of these sports it might influence if you watch either of them...I wager a lot on the major golf championships so I'm going to watch golf....I have made less then 5 tennis wagers in my life so the interests lacks with that sport
Nonsense. Tiger couldn't beat anybody right now, even a 15 year old. He can't even break 80 and came in dead last in his last tournament. When your struggling with your swing, it doesn't matter how good you were before. The skill level for golf is so much higher and more precise than tennis it's not even funny. I think you have to be a better athlete and fitter to play tennis, but it doesn't require the skill level of golf. No game does. It's why golfers get paid a million+ bucks for winning golf tournaments. There isn't very many people who can do it. Like I said before here, tennis is a great game, but the bar is set much higher in golf. Michael Chang was just 17 years old when he won the French Open in tennis. I don't believe we'll ever see a 17 year old win a major in men's golf.Tennis is no doubt the hardest sport I have ever attempted to play.
The difference in level of play pros vs amatures in tennis is probably are larger gap then any other sport.
A great amature golfer can hold his own against a pro golfer on any given day.
Just yesterday a 15 year old best tiger woods by 3 strokes.
That can never happen in tennis.
The best amature tennis player at my health club could not even win a single game against someone like Fed or Nadal .
The gap in talent is too vast.

That's true, they can give a pro a run for their money. And there are some very good amateurs that can too. But they can't do it for 4 rounds of golf. That's what separates the men from the boys..Tiger might be a bad example .
But on any given day day a great club pro at a local golf club can give a pro golfer a run for his money on any given day.
I think the local golf pro yesterday shot -1 which is better then dozens of pros not named tiger did yesterday .
The best local in any local racket club could not even sniff the court against Roger or any pro on the tennis court under any circumstances

If there was that much luck involved we would have club pros and amateurs winning PGA golf tournaments. That just doesn't happen. To me, it's really pointless comparing tennis to golf. I've played plenty of both. They are two completely different sports. Tennis is more of a physical sport, and golf is more of a skills game. Personally, I don't watch much of men's tennis anymore. It's become all about the serve and little about the volley. Which for me is too repetitive and boring to watch...So this means golf has a lot of variance, sure there's lots of skill involved but flukes can happen anytime, meaning there's lots of luck involved as well?
