I don’t think you can say he should’ve beat Chargers as a rookie. That was a pretty good team and it was like his 10th start.
All of this obscures the goal post moving though. Being ahead of market on Jackson has been very profitable because people thought he was going to be a massive bust.

I don't. I like plenty of white QBs - Brees, Brady, Rodgers, Minshew, I even like Josh Allen - but that doesn't mean I think he is better than Josh Allen.
If you look at the stats and record of the two since they came into the league - Jackson is clearly better and its not really close.
If you want to argue that you would rather have Josh Allen because you think Lamar Jackson gets hurt, I get it but thats not what people are arguing here.
Its just odd to give Josh Allen all this credit from 3 games against mediocre competition and say he is a brand new QB and previous seasons mean nothing

Yea, I think Lamar Jackson has a better chance of winning the super bowl than Josh Allen. I think Jackson has a higher chance of getting hurt but I'd bet on him over Josh Allen.
