Journeyman- I guess my whole feeling about gambling is that it's a great thing in life. I love it, love the action, and love winning. It's the winning, not the money, although the money is great when you do win. I plan on having a significant amount of wealth when I am old, not because I make a lot, but because I put much of it away. But I still think I'll get excited and be motivated to win at betting, even though it will have no impact on my financial position at that time. It does impact my financial position now, and enables me to take trips and things when I win. But I will keep the same frugal view towards money, no matter how much I have. Heck, my dad is retired and doesn't have to work, but gets so pumped about $5 bets and office pools. Just keep it about the winning and the challenge, and not about the money, and you'll still be able to have that excitement.
On the other hand, gambling is just a diversion, and is not real life. I make it my life at times, but that is stupid. Don't base life decisions around it. I love the new U2 album, as well as all of their other albums. U2 reminds me of what life is about everyday. Emotions of all kinds, and spirituality. Life is deep, not shallow like gambling. Just keep gambling that way. You can love gambling, but it can never love you back.
