If the government created that policy, then overpopulation probably has become detrimental to the nation.

And if that's the case, why would anyone fight back? "To hell with the country, I'll have more babies regardless of who it hurts" ?!?!?

Any time the government says it's going to "force" someone do something... and that something is not illegal or a clear and present danger...then massive red flags should go up.

The government's job is to enforce the law, not force private industry or family to do things in the name of "fairness."

Foe example, who the hell is Obama or Congress to decided how much profit is "enough" for a corporation or how many members of a family are enough? This is one prime ideological difference between Right and Left. I'm not saying there's not a place for regulation. There is. But regulating profits is nothing more than Marxian redistribution of wealth...ie an utterly disproven economic theory. Regulating the size of a family crosses the border of totalitarianism.

Why not legislate how many points an NFL team can score?

I agree. When/if overpopulation ever does become a big problem (assuming it's not already) they should first deal with it by offering tax incentives for couples with one or fewer kids, or something like that. Forced abortions would be a last resort - and unlikely to ever be resorted to at all.

Personally I think it's time to have an open National discussion about cutting off the right to have children from many classes of people, mainly repeat felons, and anyone who relies on the state to pay for those children.

The responsible people in this country are having fewer children. The irresponsible are having more children on the backs of the (responsible) taxpayers.

Only a misguided society could allow this insanity to continue.

You can fit the entire world's population into the state of Texas, and it would only be as crowded as the city of San Franciso. That would leave the entire world empty for cultivation etc.

Liberals packed into cities and like to evoke fear that we are running out of space, or sprawl is out of control, but as anyone who has ever flown over this country would notice, there is plenty of open land and cornfields for thousands of miles. There was a movie I guess in the 70's called "standing room only" which was designed to trick people into thinking we will all be packed together "standing room only".

True. People living in the city are more likely to feel like the world is overpopulated. I've lived in Orlando since the early 70's and I've seen my nice small city grow into a metropolis. No doubt in my mind that overpopulation lowers the quality of life. And I'm no liberal.

Over population is the next wave of fear campaign the liberals will use after global warming. They love stuff that can easily be manipulated with grotesque images and that will play on your fears.

Well since I recently decided to make JudgeW my new Life Coach for my second half-century, I guess in the event of the OnlyOneRugRatPerDame program, I too would have to find 50 willing coochies.

- 2 men would fight back against the government suits to save their wife.

- 9 men would fight back against the government suits to save their friends/neighbors.

- 1 man would let the goernment operate on his wife, and abort his second child.

At least I know I will have some numbers with me if the liberals get their way. Over population is the next on the media fear/hype game plan once global warming losses traction. They will show pictures of crowded subways in Shanghi, and Dry water wells, and crowded beaches during peak summer days... ahhh, the power to see the future.

You forgot the one man who replied that your premise was silly as shit.

If you're going to post a Poll, keep proper score, damnit.

I'll bet Germans putting Jews into death camps and feeding them poison gas must have sounded pretty extreme to Germans 20 years before it happened. Never say never. People need to fight back against Governments that take away freedoms. A government can't "give" you rights, it can only take them away. Men were born free.
