Winning helps the enjoyment for sure. :toast:

It sure does. If Denver could have scored a TD in the 2nd quarter instead of that FG I would have hit 7-7 as well. I was surprised they went for it on 4th down, was excited when they made it, and was pissed when they got the holding penalty.

Horrid game. Worst in a very long time. I think it was bad Offense, more than Great Defense. Cam overthrowing wide open receivers early. Dropped passes all game. Horrid Officiating. No fire at all from Carolina or Cam. He looked like a Zombie from the pregame on. Denver had no QB to move the ball. Both Cam and Carolina Quit on the game late with that Fumble/Business decision, and Carolina Punting late.
At least when Balt killed the Giants, there was greatness on display. Yesterday there was just ineptitude all over the place.

I think Denver's defense made Carolina look bad. Denver had no offense, zero, and the game was won only because of their defense. Carolina looked terrible from the start. They acted like they thought they would win the game just by showing up. They acted like they didn't even want to be there.

I wouldnt consider this the worst. Until the last few minutes Carolina was within striking distance. Carolina was the highest scoring team this season. If you watched any of their games you know they were capable of big plays. How many times did Ginn have over 100 yards receiving on 2 catches lol.
Den/Sea was much worse, that was never even a football game. Neither was SF/SD
Bal/Nyg was a bad and boring one as well.

Totally agree. SF/SD was one of the worst I can remember. Bal/NYG was boring as hell. The only reason I liked it is I won a bunch of money.

I love great defense too, but one offense was absolutely putrid while the other was mistake prone

how many drives were stopped by silly Carolina penalties? just about every 2nd half possession, and the D was too good to overcome penalties

while Denver couldn't score on their own shadows

I totally concur about one thing, winning helps overcome blemishes

just like booze turns dogs into foxes

I cast a vote for Mia/Wash back in early 70's I think. This last one was def unimpressive though. Good defense played on both sides but alot of ineptness as well.

I had Denver and had to turn it

Cmon. You are saying you had Denver and you stopped watching? Unless you stopped watching late in the 4th, I don't understand why anyone would turn the channel. That game was not over until late.

16-10 midway through the 4th quarter if I remember correctly. Game was not really locked up until that last Denver TD.

Maybe just not a big NFL fan. Didn't start watching until the phoenix open ended. It was a sloppy game. Just because one has $$ on it doesn't mean u enjoy watching the play on the field, court, etc.

Now, I don't know if the best criteria to make a case as the worst Super Bowl is when the MVP was from the losing side, though I'll say that Super Bowl V was the worst, based on the losing team - Dallas, and Chuck Howley - having the game's MVP. I was in first grade then, and it was years later when I remember hearing that it was a sloppily-played game. Had the rookie kicker, Don(?) O'Brien, been named most valuable for his game-winning kick, would I have called that game the worst SB? I don't know, but it wouldn't have stood out as much to me as hearing that the game MVP played on the team that lost.
