Being a contrarian,Sunday is usually my best day. Having said that I will now crash and burn.

A very wise man once told me that I could improve my winning % in the NFL by asking my friends who they like in a particular game. And if 4 out of 5 say go with team A, then bet the ranch on Team B...

Nothing wrong with being a contrarian, although I don't subscribe to that theory alone.

How can anybody say the NFL is the hardest sport to beat? It's the only sport where if you bet every home dog, you will win (every year). Throw in line shopping, rogue lines, and out of whack moneylines and it's very easy to hit at least 55% every year. I will continue to do this until it fails.

I take pride in being very careful to bet no more than 2% of my bankroll on any one play. How the phuck then did I lose more than 25 %of my 5 figure bankroll in one day yesterday. It was about a year's worth of grind.

I don't remember much after the train wreck began. I remember UNLV getting flagged for a few more infractions than I would have liked. Funny thing that everybody and his mother was on them. I remember carefully honed discipline and money management going out the window. I remember a few drinks.

Funny thing is that this morning I still like the bets just not the amounts. As I look at the dead bet slips scattered on a desk that I see this morning as a Civil War battlefield after a battle, I blame all of this on George W. Bush and Karl Rove. These guys have put me in an apocalyptic mind frame. They have put in my head a "who gives a chit" mindset. I now realize that I am blue state born and raised living in a red state state of exile. Years ago I gave up Canadian Club for Jack or Jim. I became a Nascar fan. I own a shotgun and a .22. I drive a pick-up truck. I listen to country now instead of Springsteen. I got acres and a pond. I drove a stock car in a few races just over a year ago. Man,I had this coming to me. And I can't even see a Junior A or college hockey game.

Worst day for me since a Democrat was in the White House. Am I not any better than that? Have I learned nothing at all? Is this as good as it gets?

From the end of the Hawaii game till about 10 minutes ago I was seriously contemplating quiting for good. I might do that yet, but I too really like Tampa Bay and Buffalo today and I have an opinion on MNF and besides its almost time for the games to start..

Home Dogs in the NFL have won every year since I started gambling (1994). The reason why is because there are way more chumps than people with a clue. Does that mean that it is a "Lock" that they will win every year? No. With reduced juice, line shopping (rogue lines) and the fact that the books are gonna inflate the line on the fav's because the chumps bet them with both fists pounding the table it's about the best deal you can get. I value the home dogs around 53% in the NFL.
