First, I think 'take over the world' may be a little dramatic at this point, although you can't really argue that the US completely dominates in almost every arena: military, economy, cultural influence, non-governmental institutions, etc. Countries who are not likely targets for military aggression will instead be pressured into economic and cultural submission. [Also, I think their 'domination' began at the end of WWII, or the day the first bomb was dropped in Japan. It was a matter of ending the reign of the Soviets that may have prevented a 'takeover' from happening sooner.]

Maybe looking at the situation through Canadian eyes has me paranoid, but I just don't know how anyone could realistically deny that the US forges controller/controllee relationships with even its closest allies. Frankly, I'm surprised that you are shocked by my initial claim.

I'm not shocked. I just don't believe it. Patton was one if not THE best General we had and he wanted to finish off the Soviets right then. In fact, I believe he even guaranteed victory. Their Air Force was in ruins, their Army was already spread pretty thin. Even if they fell back to Soviet Union proper, they would have been hard pressed to repel an organized invasion. Couple that with some atomic weapons and we have a winner.

If you consider the U.S. a bully, grow some 'nads and stand up for yourself. Iraq, Vietnam and Korea are just a few of the nations that have not backed down. It can be done, it's only a matter of what you're willing to pay.

If I was a world leader, I damn sure wouldn't want Kerry as this country's President. You'll never know what to believe. I don't like Bush either but if someone gave me a choice with no alternatives: Kerry or Bush, I would probably choose Bush at this time. I went to Kerry's website and he is just too out there for me. I was hoping Edwards would get the nomination. Looks like I'll sell my vote this year.

Uncle Money,...Funny you should mention this.
Hillary Clinton was saying how the new voting machines should spit out a reciept after voting.Leave it to her to think of more goverment paper work...but what her real motive is,is that her campaign workers would be able to troll the streets for hookers, winos criminal aliens, and other assorted democrats and pay them for the recipt with assorted ciggs, needles, booze or other cash prizes for their straight leftist voting recipt.Talk about buying votes...and if you don't think the Clintons think like that you don't know the Clintons.

Patriot,

That was cloud talk. I would never take the chance of having to vote for Kerry by selling my vote. Depending on whom the other candidates are, I may not even vote at all. I think it's more the lesser of two idiots than evils. I'll stay somewhat tuned to the political arena in the hopes of a miracle.
