Excellent performance from the Dutch, especially after falling behind on a questionable call awarding the penalty. My perception, which may not be reality, is certain Dutch teams from the past might of folded a bit after that occurrence against a side with the quality of Spain. RVP actually showing up for country on the biggest stage - if that continues the possibilities could be endless.
Between robben, sneijder, Van Persie...they all still don't get along, have tremendous egos and are still evidently as selfish as could be...that being said, their talents are undeniably out of this world class at times and still reminds one of how beautiful Dutch football should be played...the youth is hopefully what spurs on these 3 to be better game by game...Absolutley loved the 'blood in the water' mentality after going 3-1 up as if that wasn't enough...could easily have been 7-1 final....when Lens and Wijnaldum the entered the game, it looked like a pair of Porsches doing test runs on the autobahn passed a disillusioned spanish back line...their speed will be of tremendous value as tourney wears thin...cheers

Cocktailsnlongshots,
Congrats on the Dutch win!
Will you be posting any single match plays during this World Cup? I remember I followed you throughout the last one and did very well.
It would be much appreciate if you could post them again. Thanks

Holy balls. That rvp finish was a thing of beauty and the total game changer! Never saw that happening and it cost me 600, but still had a winning day thanks to mexico and Chile. Spain just might be toast on goal differential, Australia 0-3 with everyone else 2-1.

Brazil over Cameroon for the biggest bet of career? By then they will be 0-2 and already checked out waiting to go home. Mexico completely dominated that match and can't imagine what Brazil will do to them...

My only concern would be Brazil already having the group wrapped up and sitting certain stars, such as Neymar who already has a yellow. I think the stronger play may be Croatia to destroy Cameroon in the next game.

I agree with that, but Brazil is still deep enough. Willian has an incredible work rate. Dante maicon fernandinho ramirez who could all start are still better than a Cameroon side...

Dutch heading back to 4-3-3....Australia forced to 'have a go' all game or it's curtains in WC 2014...4-3-3 could be deadly on counter v. a team moving so far up pitch...forgot who posted it, but someone had a bet on Dutch under 2' goals...of course it could happen, but I am having hard time not seeing them slide 4 passed Shwarzer....so long as Aussies don't sit back...but that would be insane to approach this match this way, no?

I went with Neth over 4 team total goals (+615)....feel like they are the Spurs of the NBA....people think no way can they do what they did against Spain...

My luck has been down down down lately, so I will see if it continues...

W/O Van Persie today Van Gaal would be an absolute rag if he didn't place Huntelaar up front to start today...understood VP is LVG's pet pupil and the bad blood between the hunter n VP hopefully doesn't cost him a place in today's starting lineup...again, why have Huntelaar on team then?...onward, if Huntelaar gets call to start, 13/2 on him as 1st goal scorer seems fair...he will be shooting from every angle possible to stick it to VP n LVG....Another thing to watch,,,,if Sneijder gets start today, watch how much Huntelaar gets fed in regards to how much Sneijder feeds VP(basically, emm... Never!)...Sneijder will also be looking to stick it to VP n LVG as well for taking that arm band away....and with all that animosity built up between those 4, is it a wonder Robben never gives the ball back once he obtains it? Sick to think what could be the last 12 years w/o all the bs ego's for this beautiful country....ps. I can see another cracker in this one v. Chile today...4-3 final...your guess is as good as mine who wins....Chile fun to watch, looks as if they play w/1 keeper and 10 forwards in moments of the match...they will definitely put a few past us but Dutch counter off Chile press will net them a slew today I feel..cheers

Quite remarkable Huntelaar does not start???....tremendous speed for the Dutch out there but the insides of Huntelaar must be rotting...should be good for a quote or two in tomorrow's De Telegraaf

Dutch certainly seem like the play here and should walk to the semi's, only concern for me is a rapid starting Dutch side in WC or Euro seems to fade when it counts, that is my perception, but maybe not reality. Favorites tend to rule the roost at this stage. I like that the opponent is Mexico who are the masters of advancing from the group, regardless of the situation, but are one and done always.

I'm thinking low scoring, but Dutch take it home. I may look at the win to nil, as things usually tighten at this stage and Mexico aren't incredibly intimidating offensively.
