-Brazil to win Group F at -300 (Made on Dec. 10)
-Ukraine to win Group H at +224 (Made on Dec. 10, bigger play)
-Germany and Brazil to both win their groups at -118
-Most lopsided win: Over 4.5 goals -134 (Biggest play)
-England not to make the semis -174 (Made on Dec. 10, bigger play)
-France not to make the semis -190 (Made on Dec. 10, bigger play)
-Brazil to win World Cup +305 (Made on Dec. 10)
-Ukraine to win World Cup +6000

-USA to progress farther than Mexico +104 (Made this bet on Oct. 21, too bad the USA drew an impossible group)

Angola +1 and +1.5 vs. Portugal +104 -June 11. This play is for two reasons. First, Angola will be very fired up to play against their former oppressors. Of all the liberation movements in Africa for independence this was one of the bloodiest and longest. It took a little over 400 years and a lot of lives for Angola to gain its' independence from Portugal and they left without trying to set up a government causing 27 years of Civil War. The Portugese are still loathed in this country and it being the first match will fire up the Angolans to do the impossible. Second, Portugal has a history of chokejobs. Hell, they have had some of the best talent in the world during WC 98 and WC 02 and still couldn't even get out of the first round. Angola WILL play this game close and I can't see them losing by more than 1 goal. I will also throw a little bit on Angola to win at +775 and some on the draw at +350

IM still trying to figure out which parlays I want to take on the first match days. I think that I want to have a 5 team parlay. I am Using Bodog for my lines. Any input that you guys can give me could help.

England-170
Sweden - 425
Argentina -200
Mexico -210
Portugal -278
Australia +150
Italy -280
France -167
Brazil -250
Ukraine +333

Well, if it was a 5-team parlay, I would take France, Brazil, Sweden, Italy, and Ukraine as those are the best values.

I woud stay away from Argentina because the Ivory Coast can give them a game, I think England could lose to Paraguay, Mexico is not nearly as good as in past years, Portugal always chokes and will play a fired-up Angola squad, and am iffy on Australia

IMO, 5 team parlays are wastes of money. WAAAAAAAAAAAAY too tough to hit, especially in a sport where ties are so common and a tie is a loss. I would take 3 teams and wheel them in 2 teamers. Brazil, Germany and Sweden are probably the closest to sure things in the first set of games. Won't pay great, but that is always the case with the best bets.

dmmd98, my bad, i had a total brainfart. you are absolutely right about that, but i still think the Iberian Peninsula has the two biggest choke-job teams in the World Cup.

TTinCO, TOTALLY agree. Almost pulled the trigger on the Czechs to win the group but decided the better bet would be Czech Republic to win it all (since if they win Group E, they play Group F runner-up which will almost certainly be a team they should beat like croatia, japan, or australia) You have two fine looking bets.

InSpades, you chime in on a lot of my threads and I appreciate it. I value your opinions greatly and always feel good when we agree on something.

no worries, good luck on your bets. I hope you don't mind me revisiting this if a certain team doesn't choke ata later date.

Thanks dmmd, you can revisit if you like, but I'm not going to say that Portugal won't get out of their weak group. I think they get bounced by the Group C team they play in the round of 16 and just choke against Angola. I think they slaughter Iran, draw Angola, and give Mexico (who is overrated as well) a good game.

No worries I usually keep my mouth shut in most cases when talking about Portugal cause I am biased so its doubtful I would revisit it. Im just taking it game by game starting in week and putting my faith in Scolari who has god like status over there. However I will add something now. If Argentina is the team Portugal would face IF they make it thru Portugal is in trouble due to the match ups it will be a tough game but if its Holland Portugal makes it thru they outplayed them in Euro and Portugal was the team to bounce Holland out of being in the world cup in 2002. They own Holland and im keeping my fingers that would be there match in the second round if heartbreak doesn't happen again.

Portugal is still favorite. Angola is good but not yet to give Portugal a surprise. This WC is totally different and especially that this is Figo last chance to prove something out there.

I think Togo is going to get slaughtered, very real chance to have the worst WC of any team.
