OK gentlemen, been a tough tournament, rarely will you see me lay those big chalks and you saw why yesterday as I successfully steered clear of Czech and Italian land-mines. Though I knew Group E was by far the most difficult going in and it's prolly my fault that I didn't fire on both dogs plus 1/2 or plus 1 for a decent bet. Wanted to see how Ghana recovered from that exhausting game against ITaly Monday. Guess quite well; will be tough for the US but I think we match up well with some of Ghana's speed and they will certainly miss the two guys who are out cause of back-to-back games with a card.
Now at 5-7 and -1030. Time to stay hot.
After looking at the Brazil/Aussie game for considerably more time than I should have (considering the abnormally high line)... I decided to pass. Aussies offer the most value but their wily coach will likely rest a few of their better players in anticipation for the last match against Croatia, which could decide who advances to meet Group E winner.
Will make a fairly large play on the Koreans. France goal-less in WC since 98 and missing an offensive threat in Cisse. They were uninspired in their opener the other day against Swiss and I really like Korea's team. This is a chance for them to prove that going to the Final Four in '02 wasn't because they were playing at home. Look for an inspired effort today and either a draw or outright win on the field.
The plays: Korea plus 1/2 plus 205 - 400 to win 820
Korea plus 1.5 goals -138 - 1380 to win 1000
That'll do for now. Back later with some Monday thoughts and analyses...
