Good trade for all teams. I don't know why everyone thinks Pitt got ripped off. They are doing a very good job of rebuilding that team (although they've been rebuilding for 20 years now). They got rid of Nady and Bay and got some very good players in return. Moss and LaRoche are both very good prospects. Boston got by far the worst end of the deal giving up Manny and Moss for Bay, but it is better than nothing.

This just improves my LAD futures to win the World Series. I called an all LA World Series earlier in the season, and it's looking great right now (although I'm starting to feel the Angels don't make it, and possibly the Rays do?).

I support the trade as a Sox fan. It was time to "get what you can" for Manny before he was gone. Who knows what type of effort you will get with him and also now the team can focus on winning games as a team with no Manny distractions.

Manny will be a free agent, and an AL team is much more likely to give him the contract he wants since they can DH him. The Yankees will be in pursuit of Manny Ramirez which blows big time, but what can ya do? It was fun having him around, it would suck to see him in pinstripes for the next few years but it's a very real possibility IMO.

Moss would have never seen the light of day in the outfield as a Red Sox.
At best he would have been a fourth outfielder there.
I like Hansen but they have a boatload of minor league pitching.
Bay will put up 30-100 type numbers in that lineup.

Law of diminishing returns. According to this relationship, in a production system with fixed and variable inputs (say factory size and labor), beyond some point, each additional unit of variable input yields less and less additional output. Conversely, producing one more unit of output costs more and more in variable inputs.

AHHH WHAT EVER!

DUDE IS 36. Sell him off for younger guy with potential. Manny great player but come on Boston has had enough of Manny being Manny.
BAy is a solid citizen! I think you will see in the long term Boston made the best deal!
