All I can see is Japan -1/2.

Japan is just far too much more creative, cohesive as unit than England for, IMO at least, England to hang in.

I see 2-0 Japan.

Split yesterday for a few dollars in Plus Money

Japan -.25 1st Half +$124
Over .75 1St Half -$102

Japan -.5 FT +$103 <----- should have waited

Japanese girls like to score quick - England took Canada by Surprise with some aggressive play early but were largely dominated throughout the whole game

GL guys

True, on both accounts: "should have waited" and the comment on ENG/CAN. Those 2 quick goals were a trip, after that I saw the game I'd expected, that FIFA expected (and hoped for) and that the Linesmakers expected and a game that Canada won 1-0.

It'll be apparent that I support your take on this game by the fact you won't be seeing any of my normal touting of the play that has done me best in this tourney: "First Half Draw"....in this one.

If England can get dominated like that v. Canada their future is cloudy as an average British Day v. a Japanese team that has been here before and is off a win v. a stalwart Aussie team that yes.... Japan beat just 1-0 but if you watch the vid I'll put at the bottom of this post you'll see Japan could have won by 2 more (or 3-0) and you'll see how clever they are in the box.....

Champions of the last Womens World Cup, 2011, via Penalty Kicks over USA, Japan sailed through their Group Stage 3-0. They handled The Swiss there while playing at less than their hardest cuz they were pacing themselves, conserving themselves during group Stage, since as past Champions they know the climb up the Mountain is rugged.

Mind you their Group Included Ecuador but it also included a tough runner-up in African Cup (to Nigeria) Cameroon team...

An English victory tonight would be a MUCH MUCH larger upset than the betting odds portray. Japan comes in experienced & confident, These English Girls arrive nervous & with the weight of the world on their shoulders

watch closely for the clever shyte these Japanese girls do on goal and grasp why I say that score v. Australia could easily have been 3-0 (Australia team, talent wise + style quite comparable to England also)

18064 Japan W 2 / England W 0 +870 1*

Longshot play this, needless to say. What does need to be said is I would usually be no more than .5* with such an unlikely to actually happen longshot play (and if True Discipline were a part of my Physiological makeup I'd be 1/2* here on it) but going a little heavier with House Money from hitting HT Draw/FT USA Win from last night, a play I covered for the sheer DRAMA of it happening lol....to add excitement to watching the 2nd Half of the game were it to accomlish the HT Draw and not a play I ever actually expected to hit. I didn't think that would actually work but since it did I'm feelin' a bit reckless now. You know the story, you've been there done that lol.

Am also on JAP -1/2 to close out a small parlay and Under 3.5 (bought a goal) to close out another little one so won't be adding to those but in terms of confidence I'd call Jap -1/2 2* and especially at the +124 I'm seeing now.

But beware this line has moved fairly dramatically for these Women's Soccer Lines towards England +1/2 (at a shocking -139 right now) but perhaps this isn't as alarming as it seems on it's surface cuz there I suspect that its Square Money bet by Homer Brits on their team thats ignited this line movement and not Sharp $$$.

Under 2.5 1*. If not for the parlays thats what I'd have done with this one, that and Jap -1/2 +124 2*.

55 Japan Women advance -190 is very attractive for those who also do small parlays and have a couple of baseball games (such as Stl. Cards) maybe in mind...or Balt Orioles to avoid getting swept at home by the TX RANGERS lol, Chen on the mound for O's....if there is "Desire" available to be rented anywhere by the O's prior to tonite's game maybe they can actually win a game. That'd be a nice change of pace in this Series. I suppose it is possible it will occur to them to salvage some small bit of dignity in front of the home crowd and win to avoid being swept and humiliated in front of their home crowd.....

Bridge Jumpers will want to consider 18076 Japan W 3 / England W 0 +1975

18013 Japan W HT / Japan W FT +265 should be considered by those who feel Japan scores in 1st Half as a means of squeezing better payout out of big confidence in the Japanese squad in this one. The HT Draw though is now -110 the most expensive a HT Draw has been in this tourney yet so 18013 Japan W HT / Japan W FT +265 isn't great value, when that is factored in...would need to be +330 or better in my estimation to have acceptable value....when considered against the -110 price being shown for HT Draw.

The expense of that HT Draw implies bettors and/or linesmakers feel a HT Draw is more likely than ususal.

Albeit maybe just slightly more likely than ususal....HT Draw in last night's USA game closed at -105.

18052 Japan W 1 / England W 0 +550....meh....I'll prolly wind up covering it for .5* just cuz that was the result Japan got v. Australia which as I mentioned is quite comparable to England where level of difficulty is concerned...

ENG #6 in FIFA Rankings, AUS #10...for what those are worth.

Alt Power Rankings (at http://fivethirtyeight.com/features/womens-world-cup-preview-the-u-s-has-company-in-the-lead/) show

2 USA 95.4
3 Japan 92.7
8 England 89.6
10 Australia 88.7

Those who wanna back the British Girls (Reg Time + stoppage) should try and locate England -1/2 at +277 and 18043 Japan W 0 / England W 1 +850 or 18058 Japan W 1 / England W 2 +1450....

.....or do the much safer extratime and shootouts included 54 England Women advance +165.

Like England here and wanna shoot for the stars? 18028 Draw HT / England W FT +800

Wanna shoot for another GALAXY??!!? 18019 Japan W HT / England W FT +4800.

18016 Japan W HT / Draw FT +1600 would be Japan coming out fast for 1-0 lead at Half then England tying it up 1-1 at the end of Reg + Stoppage.

Japan backers might do well to consider the 3 Team Parlay
MLB Baseball 916 Baltimore Orioles* -175 vs Texas Rangers N Martinez - R Listed W Chen - L Listed
MLB Baseball 930 St. Louis Cardinals* -143 vs Chicago White Sox J Quintana - L Listed J Lackey - R Listed

Women Intl Soccer 55 Japan Women advance* -185 vs England Women advance (extratime and shootouts included)

50 for 155.69

Succes with this would require fereverent prayer though that The Baltimore Orioles experience some form of Divine Intervention that leaves them with Heart AND an actual desire/concern for whether they win or lose baseball games. Which is kinds far-fetched...that happening in the next few hours before First Pitch on this game. They'll most likely just go ahead and get swept before their home crowd, pretend to care then depart the stadium in their Bentleys & Range Rovers return to their Mansions and pack their bags for their journey to Chicago to get swept (yet again) by The White Sox.....as if THEY could sweep anybody lol.

A challenge shared by many other American League teams though so not just O's afflicted with....near total absence of heart & concern about winning or losing......DET, CLE, BOS, these squads and The Orioles need to take a hiatus from Baseball and join Dorothy, taking The Scarecrow's place on The Yellow Brick Road to see The Wizard so they can ask for a Heart.

Were they able to complete this journey BEFORE tonite's game vs. Texas I'd say that parlay hits thus transforming a -190 Japan advances into a +300 Japan Advances.

Totally INUDATED with angry PMs from guys raging about me supposedly portraying British Girls as slutty and Asian Girls as wholesome and pure, by comparison, in some post somewhere above.

Not even sure which post they are referring to these Social Justice Warriors, Cap'n Saveahoz fighting for the dignity of British Women...I don't even know what they're talking about. I would never do such a thing.

But just to shut them up I'll try and redeem myself in this (stolen) writeup here:

cheers_gooner.jpg
"Let me say right upfront here that I'm not a part of whatevers happened or is happening with the fight about the pictures being slutty or whatever all the railings on are about. All my association with anything is that some guy stole my writeup from my website goonersguide.com and copypasta'd it here. I would personally never portray women in anything but a positive light and were I to find my writeup had been made a vessel of anything other I'd smack the bloke responsible o'er his noggin with a pint glass." - Gooner

Japan Women v England Women

Football: Women World Cup

1st July 2015 – Kickoff time 7pm Eastern/4pm Pacific

Japan Women have earned three clean sheets at the tournament so far, while England Women have failed to pick up a single clean sheet.

c0795a55c6qzaab4.jpg.jpg

Japan have won all five matches in this year’s World Cup, but they lost 2-0 the last time they met England in the World Cup, which was four years ago in the group stage.

morningsickness_1937681b.jpg

All of Japan’s victories this time around have been by a one goal margin.

It has to be said that other then the opening game against France,
sexy_french_flag.sized.jpg
this will be England's toughest match. Japan are organized and a tough side to beat.

England have plenty of spirit, plenty of fight and guts, but that may not be enough against a pretty good Japan side

Meanwhile, England Women will have to do what no other team at the World Cup 2015 has managed to do, and that is beat Japan.

slutty-small-british-girl.jpg

However, the last time that these two met at the World Cup, England Women came out winners. England Women will not be short of confidence and passion as they hope to meet USA in the final.

No doubt that England Women have progressed through to the semi finals of the Women’s World Cup and despite their underdog status, proved what they are capable of.

article-2259878-16D6B0E3000005DC-482_306x674.jpg

Now they will take on Japan Women, who are the reigning world champions as underdogs, because Japan Women are the better of the two sides without a doubt.

aya-kiguchi-yaponka-aziatka-3846.jpg

Nevertheless England Women have scored two goals in each of their last four games all 2-1 wins and will not be short of enthusiasm and determination coming into the match.

England have rotated their squad and there have been some difficult decisions which boss Mark Sampson. He started with Jodie Taylor up front against Canada in the quarter finals and it paid off with her hard work and simply brilliant opening goal. The other players to watch will be Toni Duggan and Ellen White.

ravel-morrison-toni-duggan-celeb.ashx

Lucy Bronze, who has scored the winning goal in both knockout matches and is going to be their player of the tournament cannot be discounted here as well.

Lucy-Bronze.jpg

In their come from behind win over Norway in the round of sixteen, it has shown two sides of England and their mental focus to hold on against Canada after going ahead so early. Their best bet of winning is actually getting forward and attacking which will create chances for them to take.

taking-chances-quotes.jpg

It could go 1-0 or 0-1 either way so best bet would be to go for Both Teams to Score - No.
The Pick :

Japan Women 0-1 England Women

HANDICAP BETTING :

Take Both Teams to Score - NO

Heading into the 2015 FIFA Women’s World Cup, England was not the sexy choice. The Lionesses were undefeated in World Cup qualifiers, outscoring their opponents 52-1, but few insiders expected them to challenge the game’s giants: Germany, the United States and Japan.

Then came the victory over Norway in the Round of 16 and the upset of host Canada in the quarterfinals.

England still only has a 10 percent chance of winning the tournament, according to our Women’s World Cup forecasting model, but its chances nearly doubled after the Norway win and then more than doubled after the victory over Canada.

The squad, which features no recognizable stars and has not won a match in this tournament by more than one goal, now finds itself on the brink of history.

England has never made it this far in a Women’s World Cup, and this is the furthest any English team, men or women, has come in a World Cup since 1990.

Tonight, the squad, led by coach Mark Sampson, will take the field in Edmonton against defending champions Japan for a spot in the final against the U.S., which upset Germany 2-0 in its semifinal match Tuesday night.

Japan is favored to win the game 61 percent to England’s 39 percent, according to our model. Its chances of winning the tournament are 20 percent — double England’s but still a far cry from the U.S.’s 70 percent.

Japan has quietly arrived at this stage of this competition. The team played its most complete game of the tournament in its 2-1 victory over the Netherlands in the Round of 16 and labored to a 1-0 win over Australia in the quarterfinals.

Japan’s attack remains the game’s best; its tiki-taka passing style in the midfield is a beauty to watch for spectators and baffling for defenses. The midfield, led by 36-year-old former captain and 2011 World Cup hero Homare Sawa and star Nahomi Kawasumi, has dominated possession in every one of the team’s matches but has failed to convert that dominance into goals.

Japan has averaged just 1.4 goals per game in the tournament, and England’s stingy defense will need that run to continue if it’s to have a chance.

The Lionesses’ leading scorers in the tournament are two defenders, Karen Carney and Lucy Bronze. England’s lack of offensive firepower and struggles in the final third could prove decisive against what is a small, but well-organized Japanese backline.

With both Carney and Bronze likely to have their hands full with Japan’s speedy attackers, they will have fewer chances to direct counterattacks as they did against Canada. As a result, outside of set pieces, they are unlikely to impose themselves on offense.

If Japan can do a better job converting its chances, it should win this game, maybe even comfortably. But, then again, in this tournament, nothing has been comfortable for the big teams.

re: the mentioned BALTIMORE leg of the Parlay proposed to get +300 on Japan To Advance instead of -190, -185 whatever it is....(STL CARDS, ORIOLES with JAPAN to ADVANCE):

classic-orioles-logo.png
Chen perfect 4-0 in June, whip 1.1, Martinez 0-3 last 3 starts with whip 1.7, bb/9 3-5, k/9 3, to find xFIP below 4 must go back to early May. Rangers batting 0.230s vs Lefties.

Added mostly here to illustrate, in advance, how mindboggling it will be when they manage to lose this game thus getting swept at Home, sinking the Parlay and being totally Humiliated in their Own House by the Texas Rangers.

We don't need no trouble with this one.

Last night was great fun but it was stressful. Germany came out stronger 2nd Half when it was 0-0 and started controlling possession, forcing the game to be played in the USA Half of the field and taking shots.

Don't need that sort of shyt in this one. Need a relaxed easy 2-0 cover in this one.

Is it me or are those Japanese players screeching and chirping like a bunch of birds.

Contributing Factor. There are a shitload of actual Birds caged just off the pitch though for the Halftime Show "FIFA pays tribute to Birds" which I'm really looking forward to, of course.

I may just go and deep fry a frozen burrito though, instead of watching it. Its hard to decide.

both of these penalties were garbage. Makes really 3 in a row that were called penalties that really weren't dating back to yesterday. Women should not be lead refs in any sport. I am sorry.

The other 2 weren't that bad. If you look at it in the light that we do the End Zone Line where as if it extends upwards like in an invisible barrier that if broken, ball put across it = TD Both Girls were right on the Line of The Box when brought down, likely part of their bodies was OVER that line both times. If the ref calls it the other way incorrectly and denies a team a valid PK she is in even deeper shite.

Whats a Ref to do? Judgement Call.

Best argument, I feel, is FIFA needs to have Instant Replay.

Sure would have changed a few things in this tourney if they did.

65:21 game tied 1-1...

England Might Do This.

I can't describe how enormous this would be for English Soccer if they do.

You think those birds were bad if these birds pull this off the entire British Planet is gonna be chirping 'til Sunday.

That sucks. Hopefully, she can recover from this.

The Jap did nothing in 2nd half, England didn't deserve this.
