I don't think it would ever be a full on military attack. Probably attacks by rogue groups like you see in the shit hole that is the middle east, with people not taking responsibility for them and simply retaliating. The point is, I don't think many leftists are capable.

What I always default to as far as civil unrest going to the next level is that after all the smoke clears and dust settles, standard of living in 21st century America is pretty damn good and most aren't going to want to disrupt that unless it is truly the last resort.

Most of these loser kids in the streets don't have much to lose, most normal Americans do.
