Sampras 5 years removed from competitive tennis lost 4 close sets out of 6 to Prime peak Federer!! If Federer wasn't such a choker, mental midget, he probably goes down as the goat. Sampras couldn't have been in his head as he wasn't on the tour anymore. The fact that they played 6 close sets, five years after retiring this alone makes Sampras an all-time great!! He won the last exhibition match on the fast carpet. Remember the GOAT Jordan retired for only 17 months and was much younger than Sampras and shit the bed in his immediate return!! Also Sampras at 31, his retirement, had the same slams as Joker and one less than Nadal but way more weeks at number 1. Had they not slowed the grass, and Sampras kept playing he easily wins double digit Wimbledons.

Are you predictiing no more majors for joker ?
Novak can win 2-3 more titles, he would also help Carlos development in the near term.

Roger/Rafa/Novak pushed each other to limit and they all got better playing each other. Murray briefly made it to the club, and he faded away just as quick. When Joker hang up the racket, it's the end of tennis golden era. Tennis is Carlos Alcaraz own league in a few years, he can't possibly get better playing against shitty opponents.

(the bold) - he probably practiced a few days before LOL.

good post . Nole, Rafa, Fed all added GS well into their 30's- kept motivated/fit. Recency bias has these 3 beating anybody from past yrs, lol .

in their prime : Sampras Vs Fed on the old grass at Wimbledon .... :). I cant pick a fav , -110 each . If it goes 5 i think Fed folds , lol
