Charlie Hough another knuckleball pitcher was born in Jan. of 1948 and pitched until 1994 ending his career with the Marlins at the age of 46.
Probably the oldest man to ever pitch in the Major leagues was Satchel Paige, who as far as I know never threw a knuckle-ball. He did however have ephuis pitch, which was essentially a lob or arcing pitch. Records say he was born in July of 1906, he last pitched in the majors (after being excluded for many years because of race) in 1966 for the Kansas City A's. Making him 60 years old, when he retired. Some doubt he was that young, when asked for his birth certificate, to prove his birthdate. Satchel responded "My grandma kept my birth certificate in the family Bible. One day her goat ate the Bible, so I am not really sure when I was born".
Satchel's real name was Leroy Robert Paige. He ended up with a record of 28 wins and 31 losses in his major league career. In the old Negro Leagues he won unknown hundreds of games. Paige was voted into the Hall of Fame in 1971 by the special committee for The Negro Leagues. Satchel Paige died June 8th. 1982.

Wakefield pitched well last night but he is still garbage. There is no way in hell that he should make the HOF.
