NOT A CHANCE IN HELLLLLLLL does she even finish in the top 100!!!!!! And you need to be in the 72 to qualify. She will probably shoot close to 80 for both of here rounds.

I ahve already bet the maximum bet on over 75.5 strokes and that she doesnt make the cut! It is money in the bank on the cut thing!!

Oh yes, and I know ALOT about golf, I play it 2-4 days a week and I bet on it regularly. NOT EVEN ONE media expert has her even breaking 78 for her first round. Her second round might be close to 74, but not the first round with the media and the HUGGGEEEEEEEEE gallery that she will have

You guys know that John Smoltz beat her by 1 stroke on this course about 3 months ago right??? She played with Tiger and Smoltz! Now Smoltz is a 1 handicap, so I would expect her to lose anyway.

Do you realize that her average drive is ONLY 275 yards!! Hell I hit it farther than that!! That distance on the PGA tour puts her near the BOTTOM of the tour list!!

She is only doing this because it is good for the LPGA!

One last thing, in her 275 average driving distacne figure, keep in mind that is on LPGA courses where the rough isnt that thick! On the PGA tour where trouble can be found off of tee, that keeps a few guys from trying to kill the ball!!!

My brother is a pro golfer on the NATIONWIDE tour. He will take on Annika ANYDAY for any amount of money!! Now she would have to play from the men's tees of course, but she is not even a good putter!!!!! She ranks about 50th on the LPGA in putting.

SHE BRINGS NOTHING TO THE TABLE TO EVEN BREAK 80 IN MY VIEW!!! Lets stop all of the talk about her and everyone pound that she doesnt make the cut. I dont care if the line changes since I cant bet anymore anyway

Well at least someone read my thread closely!!!

I meant to say break 80 in the first round. She may play a bit better in the second round after she gets used to playing in front of 5000 each hole! But I will stll take the over 75.5 in the second round, IF THEY EVEN POST A LINE LIKE THAT!! I have a feeling that Thursday afternoon we will see the line for Friday being about 77 or 78 for the second round.

Everyone needs to know that she tees off at about 8:30 central time.

So place your bets tonight as the books might put it off of the board a few hours earlier than that.

Some people have said around here that Vijay Singh withdrew from the tournament because he didnt want to be in the same pairing as Annika. This is WRONG!!! When he said that statement, he knew that he had NO CHANCE of being paired with Annika anyway.

In most tournaments the pairings are determined for the "fans." In other words. winners are paired with winners on the PGA tour. VIJAY couyld have ONLY played with someone who was in the winners draw.

That is Annika is playing with players that you have never heard of, because they have not won a tournament. But those guys are not that bad, one is ranked 50 on the list and the other is ranked 125 i think on the money list.

She will not beat them either

I would love to tell you, but I cant as I dont want people around here knowing who I really am. He actually made more money teaching golf than he has on the nationwide tour so far. He made about 150,000 last year just teaching lessons, so if it doesnt go well, then he will go back to it.

By the way, what happened to my thread a few weeks ago where I told people to take Fred Couples at 50 to 1 to win the Shell Houston Open?? I made some nice money on that bet! I am from Houston and know Fred. I actually lost betting on him in the Masters though, but at 50 to 1, I had alot of tournaments to spare if you know what I mean.

This week, I am taking a shot at 2 players. I am goign with Sergio garcia at 40 to 1 and Rocco Mediate at 40 1o 1. Those were the odds when I bet them a few days ago at Betrio anyway. But I also RELLY like Steve Flesch as well as Bob Estes. Thjese guys have some GREAT ODDS!!!

However, in the back of my mind i know that Phillus will win the tournament by about 5 shots probably

I will tell you guys what, if Annika makes the cut, then I will NEVER POST ON THIS FORUM AGAIN! (Except for my contest picks, hehe)

But that is how serious I am that she has NO CHANCE IN HEELLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL of even finishing in the top 100 much less the top 70 plus ties. I guess that she could tie for like 90th place with maybe 30 other guys, but that is her ONLY chance of cracking the top 100.

The only players that she beats in my book are the Monday qualifiers maybe!!! And maybe 5 more players. Also, there will be about 5 amateurs playing in this tournament as well, maybe she can tie them!

Ok I will, I only go to the rubber room about 1 time every month, so I will check it again, but I did make that Fred Couples post, although I cant find it anywhere.

But the important thing to me is that I won my bet!!

Max, she is not a high ball hitter when compared to men with the same clubs, only problem is from 200 she is pulling out a utility club while the men will be 20 yards in front of her hitting 5 or 6 irons.Gee, I wonder which one has a better chance of hitting the green and secondly staying on the green after it hits.

By high ball hitter I mean you don't see her hitting knockdown hooks and such that take two hops and grab. She just aims straight at the stick, hits it and hopes it rolls out to the right distance. Doing this at Colonial gets you a nice chip back, out of some rough or a bunker. If they put the LPGA on a men's US OPEN layout from the back tees some of them wouldn't sniff 90.

Furthermore, everything VJ said was "balls on accurate". He deserves credit for having the nads to state the truth. All this politically correct $HIT is soooo sad.
I think she is probably a fine little gal and she is certainly the best female golfer in the world. BUT.... that is exactly what she is and all she is... a female golfer. For the sake of everyone's sanity I have to hope she shoots two 85's so the point is well recognized what a stupid endeavor this is. Half-arsed publicity stunt, I guess.
She wins either way. If by some miracle she plays out her butt and all the men get food poisoning, she looks like a genius. (That won't happen) If she gets crushed she "has had so much courage to give this her best shot under tremendous adversity". (This will likely happen)

You guys are getting a bit too excited early. My main bet is that she doesnt amke the cut. She hasnt done that yet! She might need about -1 or -2 each day to stay within the cutline. This course is playing real easy right now.

But I did win taht bet that she makes a birdie before a triple bogey. I owe that one to Railbird for shopwing it to me. If you check out his thread then you will see that I even mentioned that I loved that bet.

It isnt over yet, but she has already exceeded play! The tournament just got started so she needs to get to -2 or -3 to get em to start worrying about the cut line. At least for me tomorrow she plays in teh afternoon after the greens dry out and the wind starts to pick up!! So if she finishes at -3, then that might be OK just judging from the wind and the greens drying out!

I did see one other bet last, How in the WORLD is Phil Mickelson only -115 in a match against Bob Estes???????? I know that Bob Estes is a local, but come on PHIL??????? He is the number 3 in the world!! I have ot bet teh max on that bet.

Oh yes and i did join bodog last night, but LUCKY for me that she limit was only $1110.00 on the Annika bet to win $300.

So it wont be that big of a deal, but of course I might lose about $5000 from other sites.

But I will ONLY start worrying when she gets to -3 or if she is -3 tomorrow!

Cut will probably be about -3 or -4, depending on the conditions tomorrow

All my tickets say YES to Annika, 500-1 to win +405 to make the cut, under 76.5,75.5, 70. And I have her in several matchups and some 3 balls.
I am a huge supporter of womens athletics, I prefer Diane Taurasi to Kobe Bryant, I prefer Lisa Fernandez to Derek Jeter, Pat Summitt to Gary Williams.
I didnt just play Annika because I prefer womens athletics but because it is the correct play.
