Cowder didn't even try to win this game. Down by 16 with 6 minutes to go, no hurry up offense? Down by 19 with 1:45 to go. Had ball at mid field and ran it 5 straight times to inside the 20 and ran out clock. Cowder reminds me of Wanny more and more every day.

I agree he has an awful gam as a coach but down 16 (two scores) with 6 + minutes left I don't think they needed a no huddle....and the last drive they knew it was over.

Total points is one of the minor tiebreaker stats used in determining playoff spots. Wanny, I mean Chowder just forfeited 7 or possibly 14 points or 21 with 2 sucessful on side kicks. Crazier things have happened. Game was probably fixed. First Indy play 80 td pass. 2nd half onside kick didn't even go ten Yards. Wanny, I mean Coward wasn't wanting this game at all.

Dante,

Does Cowder remind you of Dave Wannstat in any way. For some reason I see a big resemblance.

I'm predicting a Minnesota Vikings win vs the Pittsburg Peelers on Dec. 18, Dante.

I don't understand how a team can run the clock out like Pitt did at the end of tonites game. I had Indy in the game but couldn't believe that Pitt wouldn't have tried to score. You never know what can happen if you score, go for 2 and than try the onsides kick.

I guess Cower blew his load on the failed onside kick to start the second half.

I have been a Steeler fan since the late 60's. Ande even in Noll's first year at 1-13, I have never seen their coach give up in a game until tonight. Way to break new ground Bill 'I have never won a big game in my life just like my mentor Scottenheimer' Cowher.:finger:

That's exactly how I felt about this game, Cowher gave up....why they didn't take the points with that much time, instead losing all momentum twice the were going for it on 4th down....his worst game as a coach.

And how do Madden and Michaels know he's going to try an onside kick, it seems stupid to tell ANYONE that.

I know it only a minor tiebreaker rule, but teams have missed the playoffs because another team they were tied with scored more points. Cowder should be fined but the Steelers. He's probably the only coach that would have run the clock at that point. I doubt if Bill Bilachek would have. But then again it's not fair to use Cowher or Wanny in the same paragraph as Billacheck.

C'mon, people. Give me a freaking break! Let go of the gambling once in awhile and just watch the game. This game was not fixed in any way. The Colts are head and shoulders ahead of Pittsburgh and everyone else. They are the better team, and that is why this game wasn't close. Period. Sometimes I gotta wonder if the world would not be a much better place without gambling, and all the conspiracy theories that it breeds. These guys are high paid professionals that want to win, and don't give a shit whether you win or lose your wager.

Illini you act like you know everything. I disagree about Colts being head and Shoulders above the Steelers. This game was way closer than the final score. Colts got every break in the book, Rothisberger looked a little rusty after layoff, I will say this that Dungy is head and shoulders above Cowher as a better coach, I can't remember the last time Cowher won a big game. Game may not have been fixed, but you probably wouldn't have believed ASU fixed all those games a few years back. Illini it does happen, and I'm sure its happened without anyone finding out, more than once!

I don't act like I know everything, because I really don't even know much in this world. But when someone says tonight's game was fixed, I have to point out that it was a ridiculous statement. I absolutely believe that there have been fixes, and there will always be fixes. But they are very, very rare, and it's doubtful that there will ever be another one in the NFL. These guys make way too much money these days to be susceptible to fixing games.

Down 15-20 with under 5 minutes left, you have a 1/100 chance to win.

If you pass 10 times in the last 5 minutes, you have a 1/25 chance of injuring your starting QB. You're still on track to make the playoffs as is.

you do the math.

Illini,

I'm just being a sore loser, when I said fixed I was being sarcastic, I even metioned in another post that cowher was all over Indy and I was his runner.
But I still believe the whole game was bullshit. Had Pitt +5.5 first half, Pitt misses a field goal of 40 yard and Colts make a field goal of 49 yards. Pitt throws interception with 15 seconds to go and ref call a stupid illegal blocking foul on the defender that made that tackle. "lol" Illini what part of Illinois are you from. Me born in Chicago, Grew up Near North Suburb, Now Living in Northwest Suburb. Leatherneck Grad.

I grew up in Bloomington and have pretty much lived there my whole life, except for two years at college in Jacksonville, before finishing up at ISU. But I bleed orange and blue, and always have. I now live in Vegas. I just moved out here a month ago. I don't know if I've seen you post on here before....did you just sign up? Nice to meet you, either way.

P.S. I believe the Toledo-UConn bowl game last year was fixed, and I'll take that to my grave. Fortunately, I had UConn.

Yeah that uconn Qb was pretty good. He's A third stringer on Lions I believe. He might get some playing time soon. I posted up strong on the White Sox. I caught a MLB playoff pick 4 at 153-1 odds at pinnacle. I posted my ticket before Sox won World Series. Was a Cubs fan but got on the White Sox's band wagon. Made A lot on Fighting illini last season. The championship was bullshit. Sean May got away with a lot of no calls, and charges and over the back, but thats life you win some and lose some. One thing I dislike about sports is that Ref's and Ump's influence the outcome of a game way to much.
In the bears game yesterday the ref call a block in the back on the bears during a punt return, on the relplay the Bear player didn't even touch the Tampa bay Player. Way to many wrong penalties called by referee's. So be able to challenge penalties in the NFL. It's very hard to govern anything so why so sports be any different.
