Are you saying that one player's labor contract caused the black sox meltdown which involved half the starting players? This was a meltdown where superior successful athletes chose to screw their morals, their sport, and their team mates for a single payday. I don't doubt that there were deep team problems. But I bet my second base hands that Collin's single contract was totally insignificant regarding the motives in this fateful sellout. Do we expect news that the Yanks have been throwing seasons because of Rod's contract? Don't think so. If any explanation stands against records, I would bet that the sellout was simple self-interested one-time payday greed.

Biography
Born on November 6, 1911 in East Highland, California, Frank Gabler played for the New York Giants, Boston Braves and Chicago White Sox over the course of his 4 year career.
Gabler broke into the bigs on April 19, 1935 with the New York Giants, and put up a 5.70 ERA in 60 innings pitched in 1935, his rookie year.
Most people believe that Frank Gabler's best season was 1936, when he posted a 3.12 ERA.
