If I'm any team who was expected to get deep into the Playoffs either preseason or at any point during the season and my team failed miserably (thusfar we have Jacksonville, Miami, Dallas (a bit premature), Jets, Raiders, Chargers and potentially Buffalo who will come up short of playoff expectations. If I own any of those teams I am meeting with Belichick this week. He could bring any of those teams deep into the Playoffs potentially winning it all.

Belichick or Vrabel.

I'd love to see what he could do with an elite QB, which he's never had.

Mike Vrabel is an excellent coach.

Were the Dolphins expected to be Super Bowl contenders this year?

They performed about what they were supposed to, if not slightly better

Many considered Miami to be a legitimate challenger to Buffalo going into this season. including you and me. The narrative was that if Tua could stay healthy they had the tools to not only beat out Buffalo for the AFC East but that they could go deep into the Playoffs.

After 12 games they were 9-3 with 4 of their final 5 games at home where they were a stellar 5-0 SU with no opponent getting inside of a TD at the finish of each of those games. Meanwhile Buffalo was 6-6 SU at that point and closed out their season in Miami with a vengeful Fish team.

Tua never missed a snap all season.

Now you are trying to tell me that they didn't fall far short of expectations either pre season or at any point in the season?

Sorry man. Miami came up way short when they slithered out of Kansas City yesterday with yet another embarrassing effort. Make that non effort.

McDaniels was being crowned as the great new young coach well into this past season. He is a fraud.

Jerry Jones is calling Bill Belichick right now. And Belichick is telling him that he'll get back to him when he finishes his call with Miami. Can Buffalo be getting their phone on speed dial?
Miami would be idiots to fire its coach

Who's warming up the "I love when the Cowboys lose" thread?

This literally happens every single year.

Dude they were +300 to win the division. Third place expectations, well behind Buffalo and decently behind the Jets

They finished with the same record as Buffalo

They fell apart down the stretch, but from a preseason perspective they more than met expectations. They actually surpassed them if you think about it

No one really expected them to make a Super Bowl run. I mean you thought they were possibly gonna finish last in the division if I recall….
