In my humble but accurate opinion - This is total nonsense pitching the ace tomorrow. The old man has every advantage over the Yankees and he is going to blow it. Looks like he turned senile one day too early. And I will still say - bad move - even if he wins.

Patrick, Redman has really faded and it looks like he's got a tired arm. The same thing happened last year when the Tigers shut him down for the entire month of September. He might be more valuable in the bullpen to get out some of the Yankee lefthanded batters late in the game.

Too much questioning of McKeon when he has pushed all the right buttons all postseason.

"Go with the horse that got you there".

Beckett will come in, shut them down, and you will be praising McKeon tomorrow. At least Patrick has the balls to question him now. but, you DO NOT want to have your backs to the wall, forcing a game seven in Yankee Stadium of all places. Close em out, drink some champagne, and go home.

It may not work, but its this kind of thinking out of the box and believing in his players that McKeon has produced all year. I'm in the minority but I like the decision.

Why not go with your two best pitchers? They are young and get about 100 days rest afterwards. I agree completely with McKeon, Yankee Stadium will be a hornets nest tomorrow night, the fans will be buzzing and the Yanks will be fired up. Last thing you want to do is feed that with a pitcher that has run out of gas. Put out your best pitcher while he has all the confidence going for him and give yourself a better chance to close it out. If you were going to another series after this it would be a mistake, but with no more games there is no sense in making sure he has good rest. Guys with lots of breaking balls and precision need the rest, guys that mostly just fire it in there don't need as much rest as long as you don't expect a complete game out of them.

Reminds me a little bit of when AZ rode Schilling & Johnson to the title. Schilling pitched on 3 days rest twice even though he hadn't done it during the regular season.

Unlike Grady Little, I trust McKeon's judgement.
