We have to get tougher. We've been fighting since " the major war ended " like a liberal would want to fight and that never works. Set curfews and enforce them with the ultimate penalty. Move everyone living in Baghdad now to the outskirts of town and sort out the wheat from the chaff. If we get tougher the friendly Iraqis would surely understand and put up with it in order to more quickly get the job done. The precise bombing campaign was technologically impressive but isn't the threat of a "stray" bomb every so often more effective.

The sad fact is the liberals are hoping for things to go bad but they won't say so. It's their only hope of regaining power.

If I had the chance of telling Bush one thing it would be to get tougher and give the soldiers more freedom to shoot anyone they see threatening. Your job George is to be the Commander and Chief of the United States, not the head of the UN. One American life should be more important to you than a million Iraqis lives when they "parade" against our liberation.

Most likley my ideology is totally opposite of yours, but I have to agree with you regarding what liberals would like to see. Nothing would make us liberals happier than to see the Iraq situation deteriorate. I am not saying we would applaud American soilders being killed, I for one certainly hope that does not happen. Do we want this administration to come out of this looking like conquering heroes, of course not, and deep inside where we live, we want the US to fail, but the liberals are afraid to say it out loud. The Trade Center Diasters have given the conservative right the ball and they have carried it through the aftermath of 9-11 thru Afganistan, into Iraq, and now it looks like Liberia. You can bet that left wing liberal Americans are hoping they fumble and ultimately fail somewhere before the end of next year. The problem is no one at the top will ever come out and just say what they really feel. Its politacal suicide.
