Why isn't anyone talking about what a bastard Joe Paterno was?

No, not just video evidence. Any kind of evidence will do.

We don't convict people based on common sense. I think he fucked up too by not doing more. He didn't ruin lives though, Sandusky ruined lives. Think Paterno should've done more but he didn't cover anything up unless you have some proof I haven't seen or read about.

Never told anyone not to say anything about the case. No proof of anything out there.

People get convicted on circumstancial evidence all the time. They internal investigation stopped after paterno talked with school officials. This we know. We know joepa knew he was a child molestor in 1998. So the fact that he didn't go to police with it, makes him responsible as well. And yes sandusky ruined lives but so did joe. If he did the right thing in 98....all kids after that, don't get molested.

He ran that school and that town. He could have stopped it and didn't. Shame on him

He didn't cover anything up and you can't produce anything that says he did. I challenge you to provide one shred of circumstantial or physical evidence ever indicating Paterno told anyone to keep quiet about Sandusky. You can't do it.

And by the way, your "circumstantial evidence" isn't circumstantial evidence. It's you guessing. It's not evidence.

Paterno should've done more, I agree. He didn't cover anything up. You can guess all you want but you have no proof.

BTW - A guy trying to cover up a crime doesn't really go to his supervisor and tell him/her a possible crime has been committed. I don't think a cover up is committed that way.

"Hey boss, I gotta tell you, Sam saw Jerry in the shower with a little boy." "How do you want me to proceed?" "Hell, I don't know, conduct an internal investigation, go to the cops, talk to Jerry...I don't know."

That's not a coverup.

So you actually think Joepa had a supervisor? Lol. He was the ad, president and coach. A few years earlier these "supervisors" asked joe pa to step down and he said no. Let me know how it works out for ya the next time your boss says you're fired and you say no, I'm staying.

He didn't stop a child rapist and he could have. For a guy who held his players to such a high standard, he certainly didn't live up to that same standard

Well no shit Vit, he ran PSU. I'm strictly talking on paper his AD and President were his bosses and if he had the power you're talking about, he'd of coached until he died.

He didn't stop a child rapist and he could've maybe. But, he didn't cover anything up and you can't prove he did. Let's just agree to disagree.

If you can provide evidence he told someone not to talk about the situation to make it "go away" such as a text, email, phone recording, testimony or whatever...I'll respectfully admit I was wrong and apologize. I think I'll be waiting a very long time for you to provide this evidence.

I disagree. Of course he knew. And Paterno didn't do shit about it.

In the end it was more important for Paterno to win football games than a collection of toddler to teens getting their assholes raped consistently over and over again.

If you can't see that, feel free to ship your young sons off to some Catholic priest for weekends. And Sandusky should be hung or burned alive. Instead he gets free room and board. What a fucking joke. But hey, got to keep the liberals happy, right?

Um...I agree with what you say and I'm a liberal....try a new angle.

We know the pres and ad talked thru email and decided to report sandusky. But they wanted to talk to joe the next day. Guess what....after talking to joe, they changed their minds. Sometimes you have to connect a dot and this one is a layup to connect. I didn't see oj kill his wife but I can do the math

He would have coached until he died if this scandal didn't break.

Two very different situations. In the OJ case, there was clear forensic evidence to convict him. I'll ask again, what clear evidence do you have that shows Paterno directed anyone to coverup anything? And two guys talking in private is not evidence. I'll keep waiting.

Dude, I'm a Joe Pa defender but he and the PSU administration didn't do enough. You should even be able to admit this.

Here is is what you need to understand put this in context. Penn State at the time of incident with the boy in the shower, we're not, I repeat, we're not told of a rape in the shower. Penn State and Joe were told by Mike that he saw Jerry horsing around in the shower with a 14 year old kid. They then turned that information over to campus police, campus police took over, investigated it and found nothing .
There was no cover up, there was no rape, there was no victim! . Myers and his mother maintained a long relationship with Jerry, Jerry attended his wedding.
Mike MQ, maintained a relationship with Jerry, attending many charity golf events with him. Why, because Mike never saw a rape , because one didn't happen.
When Joe said he should have done more, DO NOT leave out that he said with the benefit of hindsight . In that light, Joe Paterno
was the only one to actually take any responsibility at all for what happened .

Remember, initially JOE was praised in an article in the paper for that statement !

No one at that time had any idea there that 10 years later this story would break and all these episodes would be looked at in a different light

I ask any open minded person here to think about what you know about this case and ask yourself who has gotten the most media attention , and why?

Why was this a Penn State story, why this a football story, why was this a Joe Paterno story?

Why was this NOT a Second Mile story?

As far as Jerry being innocent, All I said was he deserves another trial. It took only seven months to bring him to trail, the case was very complicated, and there was no way during that period of time, that a jury could not have been biased toward the outcome .

I don't really care about Jerry, because I think the guy was twisted and had serious boundary issues at the very least

I openly admit, I believe SOME of the victims are LYING and took lots of cash , yes

Yet, with the case beng a slam dunk against Jerry , somehow, we are no where close to having trail against anyone from Penn State ? Why?

Why did the NCAA fold , right as the Paterno suit iwas requesting discovery ?

There was no cover up, no conspired to keep anything quiet for for fear that an ex employee would damage the schools program, Joe would never , ever, , ever, do anything like that for a guy that was his best friend, let alone a guy he didn't like

To understand this story you need to understand that timeline and the chain of events that actually took place , not the one liners in the newspaper or on ESPN

There was no culture of corruption, they didn't put football first, actually, just the opposite

The statue needs to go back and the man honored , and name cleared

Lol, a guy named McQueery sees a grown man ass-fucking a boy in the shower. He is shaken and reports it to, JoePa. Nothing is done.

JoePa takes that information, opens up his filing cabinet and files it in the folder of 'Got to keep winning football games, who cares about toddlers getting ass-raped'.

If JoePa was a man, he would've done the right thing. Moreover, he would've been a hero. And you might say, 'No way, it would've destroyed Penn State.' Ha ha. No way.
The scandal broke, there was the fake outrage and after a few years it's all back to college football and big business, and making huge money. It's like it never happened.

Instead, JoePa's death was probably directly related to the mental anguish for covering it up. ("No, he didn't cover up shit," you say. Ha ha, well, he might as well have done just the same thing because it amounted to the exact same thing)

um, apparently Brucefan has cleared things up--no oral or anal with the 14 yr old boy. They were naked in the showers at Penn State, why? horsing around. More than likely towel fighting that is all. Perhaps this Sandusky chap likes to see naked young boys? is that wrong? :)

candidly, i have no idea what he's doing in prison.........:)

Geez, where do I begin?

1) McQueery did not tell him he saw Sandusky "ass-fucking" a boy in the shower.
2) Joe Pa did not file it away. He called the pres and the AD the next day and reported what McQueery told him he saw.
3) He didn't cover anything up. Prove it if you want but you can't so don't bother.
