Why is a retire in tennis no action?

Because the bet hinges on one player, as opposed to team sports.

Sometimes they play with injuries and books would get sided if there was a chance of withdrawal.

Not to mention syndicates paying them off to fake an injury and give up.

Organized tennis would get ruined very quickly

Bullshit. Starting QB's play hurt all the time, the line is adjusted accordingly.

HC,

Which books are using if you don't mind me asking. I haven't played a tennis match in quite some time, but I'm fairly certain 5Dimes, BOL and Pinnacle used to use a one set rule for retirements. Many European books will grade the water once one point has been scored. I don't remember many books using a full match for retirements, but it was a few years ago.

Never bet on tennis before as I know pretty much nothing, but wow what a crazy "rule"

Agree and I would say golf is the most comparable sport in this regard being its one person vs one person (match ups). In golf as long as both players hit the opening tee shot the bet is action.
