no doubt it was life threatening and you fell in the right place, but I don't see that stroke of luck justifying a landline for all

a cell phone fits most way better

everybody and their dog has a cellphone, the landline is redundant

If you're doing business at home, you WANT a landline...Cell phones cut and in and out and sound like shit

I'm inquiring about the best way to cut the cord. My neighbor can help me out as he knows how to play with firesticks. The problem is that i would put in my kids' rooms as well and i dont need them with unlimited access to hard core porn

I haven't found anything I'd call porn on there, haven't looked really hard either ! occasionally a bare breast that you might see on HBO, but nothing hardcore.

You can get a basic firestick for like $30 or so, that might work for the kids ?

then get one with everything for the living room

hit your neighbor up for sure, it doesn't cost a lot to try it out.

I'm not hearing anybody saying don't do this....

yes a business needs a landline, if just for a second phone number and maybe faxes ?

the hardwired landline is more reliable, it will likely still work if power is out for days and you can't recharge the cellie

I have no issues with sound quality ( unless on speaker mode), and I use a $30 Walmart smartphone that does everything I want it to do.

However , I can look out my window and see the cell tower, so I'm sure of my signal strength, the tower is like 200 meters across the swamp by the traintracks and scrapyard

R U saying you have dead zones within your home where your cellphone doesn't function ?

big House ?

Yes, I have a big house...

dead zones...NO...

I JUST DID NOT HAVE MY CELL ON ME @ THIS CRITICAL TIME...

As far as the LL I've had my BIZ for over 20 years...

so It's just built into the equation...doesn't hurt my bottom line...

but I do get what YOU ALL ARE SAYING....

thx for the feed back...

try it out on one TV, won't cost very much, you'll agree after trying it

you'll have so much more, for so much less

unfortunately it becomes less cost effective with many sets assuming $15 each, but the 15 might possibly be eliminated

even 5 sets at 15 is 75, is a deal instead of what you are paying now

How do you stream all the live sports Direct TV provides you?

I'm not a BSEE holder, but it works dude, it's really heavy on sports, like whatever sport , any game, , league, language

If you want an engineer to explain it, I'm the wrong guy

nobody is saying it doesn't work !

I'm not selling it, it's been around for many years and is legal, not that anyone here cares about those technical details, eh !

if this were false, there would be posters calling BS

it's up to you, bro

I'm always late to the convention with technology, this ain't new....

I have Direct TV "second home package". It costs around $130/month, but I use it at two houses - we have a cabin in the Virginia mountains, about two hours from DC. It's supposed to work like this: You call DTV and say, "Turn off House 1 and turn on House 2" - but for some reason it works at both houses. FCC laws/rules say it's only supposed to work at one residence at a time...but since it works at both I've kept it. Otherwise I would have researched one of these other streaming options.

We plan to move back to Florida in a year or two, so I'll look into streaming services then. My only hangup is getting live sports. I can't go without getting college football.

it's all there, and more

no contracts or conditions, just every channel for $15

it's like $110 guyz, maybe less ?

we've all probably lost that much on a stupid prop bet like the color of Gatorade used in the Superball celebration

nobody saying don't do it, speaks volumes

basically $110 and you can test it out

not one complaint , that I'm hearing of

I ain't selling it, but can connect you to my guy if requested via PM

just cut the cord and try it with whomever

THE ABSOLUTE NECESSITY IS WIFI !

if I'm lying, I'm dying !

I still have Bell fibe, but I get every channel they offer and pay 150 a month taxes in, for internet and TV. It took months a haggling to get them to give me a 50 lifetime credit for internet and 75 dollar lifetime credit for cable. I threatened to close numerous accounts (have the same name as my dad so multiple dwellings) to get that deal. I enjoy the pause, freeze frame, rewind features, for live sporting events.

Haven't had a land line since my first year in college. Haven't had cable since 2008. Remember when people were like "what do you mean you don't have cable?" Now most people I know are cord cutters.

If Doug can do this anyone can. I sell a fully loaded stick and all the support you need for $110 shipped. Like Doug said it comes with a free month of the live tv service i'm a re-seller for called Nitro TV. Been doing this since I retired 7 years ago. Once your free month expires your looking at no more than $15-20 a month for the service depending on how long of a sub you'd like. I have over 400 subscribers to the live TV service and sold over 1500 of these sticks. Most of these forums are familiar with me. Have probably close to 50 forum members with either a stick of mine or the live tv service. Many members here as well. Theirs not a game or fight including all the PPV fights and movies you cant watch for your monthly cost. Most pay $15 a month. Each stick comes with 8 pages of notes as well as an invite to a private FB group we discuss everything we do that pertains to streaming. You get every HBO, Showtime, Starz, Sky, Cinemax channel they offer. News channels, Local channels. 24/7 channels with all the top sports replays. Over 5000 channels from damn near every country but you'll only watch a couple hundred you may have interest in. Not ideal right now with all the sports shutting down but plenty more to watch. I put 4-5 free Netflix like movie apps on each device, An ad-free version of YouTube, Porn you can password protect if you want. If its cool and popular, I put it on all the sticks. I could write 10 paragraphs and still not cover everything you get. The value here is crazy good. PM me if anyone's interested. I'm not a high pressure guy, once you see one work you'll want another for another tv in the house. All my business is word of mouth as well. I do not advertise. I have a hard time keeping up as it is now. Anyone interested, I can get you a stick 2 days after making your payment. Any other questions i'm happy to answer here or in a PM. Thanks.
