One thing most poor people want is to feel better about themselves. Generally, their job sucks (if they have one), their housing sucks (neighborhood), their bank account sucks, and many other things suck, but having kids for some people gives them hope for a better future, or at least a chance for their kids to have a better life than they had. Of course, every person believes this when they start out with each child. I just had my first, and it is truly an inspiring event, it really does make you think about other things than just yourself and your own life. It may give them fulfillment that they created something and brought it into the world that is all dependent on them.... and maybe this is part of the reason some (not all) poor people have kids........
How does that explain the bitch popping out kid #6 while the other five are running around the trailer in dirty diapers and eating some flaming, hot Cheetos for dinner? Where's the hope?
I believe that the majority of poor people are stupid AND lazy.
Even stupid people can make get by if they have a good work ethic. They could do construction, work in a grocery store, or be a janitor.

Like a lot of folks in this state, I have a job.
I work, they pay me.
I pay my taxes and the government distributes my taxes as they see fit. In order to get that paycheck.. I am required to pass a random urine test, which I have no problem with.
What I do have a problem with is the distribution of my taxes to people who don't have to pass a urine test. Shouldn't one have to pass a urine test to get a welfare check, because I have to pass one to earn it for them? Please understand, I have no problem with helping people get back on their feet.
I do, on the other hand, have a problem with helping someone sit on their ass.
Could you imagine how much money this state would save if people had to pass a urine test to get a public assistance check?
