Why do people perceive "anti-war" to be "anti-American"?

omt,
Your position seems to be one of "we can't stop it, so we should support it". I respect that, but many people protesting claim that these protests are just as much about stopping the next "preventive war" as it is about this one.

If America shows Washington that we will NOT support these "preventive" wars then maybe we can stop Iran,Syria,Korea, etc .. from being next on the "hit" list.

To answer the question:
Because Baby Bush said so. "...you're either with us or against us."
And the irrational groupthink worked.

The solution is make sure that Bush is "one and done"

i never said one bad thing about usa, and i actually love americans, even thaugh i'm not one of you.

heck, i also love patriot and outandup, even thaugh we have opposite views on this war.

what i dont love, is a war like this one, where i simply can't see a single valid reason for it to happen.

maybe i'm wrong, but then, so is a big majority of the world.

i have no personal interests in supporting one or another side, neither i feel good about my countrymen booing the american national anthem during a hockey game.

i come here to say what i think about it, and unless someone prove me wrong with facts, and not <free> press stories comming from <free> pentagon, i will be against this war.

finally, i dont see how can i be perceived as an anti-american, just because i dont trust people who lied before (both iraqi and usa regime ), and because i feel that this issue could have been settled by UN.

The ballot box is not a perfect solution, but it's the best we have. If we could only get "one man = one vote" it would be even better.

I even think it beats marching in the streets and making a total fool of yourself! Now those places with NO Ballot Box--maybe they should march! Hey-end of my wasted words on this subject.

Of course I do. Last time I checked sedition and sabotoge are still illegal and punishable by jail time. Some are commiting both. Akbar should have been tried on the battlefield and shot. The peaceful man executed two US soldiers he's no better than the swill that executed the other US POWS.

Your suggestion that the protesters protests are somehow considered "sendition", surely must mean that anyone/anytime demostrating opposition to the President (even if the President is later determines to be in the wrong) is guilty of sedition.

Your constant criticism of President Clinton leads me to believe that you are also guilty of your interpretation of "sedition".

"se·di·tion ( P ) Pronunciation Key (s-dshn)
n.
1. Conduct or language inciting rebellion against the authority of a state.

2.Insurrection; rebellion.
