There's no such thing as a good bookmaker in baseball. The numbers are wrong from the opening number to close. They have no clue. But, than again, neither do most bettors.

Betting is easy. You can try to study for a winner, but that will not get it over time. The trends are the way. Play on em or against them. They will make you money.

How many times in a row do you think a fav will cover a 1st qtr spread? How many times do you think a dog will cover a halftime spread in a row?

Place your wagers & learn from yourself. How many times in a row do you lose any certain bet?

All the best

I don't get it. Why should books hate baseball, or any sports for that matter. If they do a good job balancing their action, they should always make money.

General

Maybe I am wrong but it seems to me you had the inside track with the officials regarding the NBA. Perhaps my memory does not align with the archives.

VVV,

NBA officials are the hardest working officials there are. And they get paid well for staging. That's all i know.

Marc,
Unlike bases, football is so overloaded with suckers that a book will *probably* have a chance to balance their action or get close and have the vig edge going in.

In baseball, the sharps all play, and play with more confidence. Very limited sucker action. Which means most sharps will play the same sides/totals.

Also, parlays are very good props 4 sharp baseball players.

It's tough to balance action when almost everyone only plays one side or parlayed.

Best of Luck with those parlays for long odds. But, some of my local and off-shore Bookies have built homes on my 'almosts'.
Back on subject. I know I'm probably in the minority on this one but season win totals are the best way to go for me. It takes away so much of the random chance of individual games. I know I'm tying up my money for 6 months, but if I win instead of lose isn't it worth it? In my case, I sincerely believe I'm better off tying it up and likely doubling it in 6 months as that only keeps it away from about 4 weeks of NFL season where I can do some good with it!
Baseball wins' betting is comparable to 21 counting in my book. Its better to get in the long run as much as possible. Of course, if I was privy to some inside baseball info on a regular basis that would be different!

Father Tiresias,

I have no doubt that you are corect. But why then aren't most books more quick to move thier lines. I'm amazed that even with dime lines, so many books are showing the same lines. if the books were more aggressive in moving thier lines, whhey would attract a lot more sucker bets.

ALLRIGHT.............ENOUGH ALREADY.......all this b.s about how the books cant put up good lines on baseball, terrified of getting scalped, not enough square action ect...........

the simple truth of the matter is books would like to take a break after the nba............

Baseball and books,

Please repeat after me....SPORTSBOOKS run by intellegent people DO NOT LOSE money!!!

Now with that said, the problem is that the hamdle drops and a 10cent line means that the hold percentage drops. Which means they are making less money than during FB season but there are NO middles and a good operator can grind out a profit. Baseball is definitely a sport where linemaking skills can detemine profitability and those stores that clone can get killed.
Good Luck to All

Actually baseball is no longer looked at like lepracy by the books. It can be profitable.I would say the last five years have been fairly kind to the books. But the Tigers still blow.

Hey Judge,

If you jack the line up high enough, I'll play the Tigers every night for whatever you want
