After the twin towers were destroyed and thousands lost their lives, what would've been your next course of action?

Certainly not try to make a case to attack a Country, and take down a leader and stabilizing force in the ME that had nothing to do with it.
Someone competent, without an agenda, would have tried to find the leader of the Group Responsible and make him pay, try to degrade that group through special ops, etc., since there was no single country or Countries responsible for the attack. There's no perfect answer, but the absolute wrong answer is to do what the pathetic POTUS and his group did at the time.

#1:

Guesser is #1a.

The fact that guesser would invoke that his father was a WWII vet to support the idea that running from a war is somehow justified is sickening. What an asshole guesser is.

You'd have to consider dufinch too.

Are you retarded? I was quoting a comedian. Do you have to fill a quota of being wrong or something?

many of your republican heros are draft dodger. Cheney started war after war but he wouldn't go near one.

Joe wouldn't draft dodge....the dude is unmarried and his family all think he's fucking nuts. That's why he has a separate Facebook page so they can't see how demented he's become...so he would join in hopes to get a friend.

I didn't ask what you wouldn't do and Iraq and Afghanistan are very different.

I'll ask again, after all those people were killed on American soil, what would be your next course of action if you were POTUS? This isn't an easy question to answer.

I agree it's not easy. I gave what I consider the best answer. Track down the guy who ordered it with a single mindedness of purpose.

Prosecute it as the crime it was. Like we did with the Locherbie bombing, or the Oklahoma City bombing. You can't invade terrorism. You can't occupy terrorism. A war on terrorism turns into a never-ending war, used to justify everything from collecting your phone calls to giving local cops military grade weapons.

Let's be clear though, the Lockerbie attack and the OKC Bombing are not in the same atmosphere as 9/11. Terrorism? Yes. The amount of death and damage, not comparable.

So, your answer would be to prosecute this as a crime and convict someone then do what? Just hang around and hope KSM or Bin Laden fly into the states one day so we could snatch them up?

We did exactly that in Afghanistan. Caught KSM and OBL and disbanded the terror network responsible for harboring terrorism in Afghanistan.

I agree with you.

can't work, simply not plausible, reasonable doubt would be far to easy to achieve

Obama and the left jammed that down our throat one time, and he almost paid dearly. A Gitmo detainee was acquitted on something like 71 out of 72 charges (maybe 74 out of 75)

Lets see, you were being attacked and bullets were flying all around you as you were ducking for cover and you can positively identify the defendant who was wearing a balaclava and supposedly firing at you from 100 yards away? bawawawawawaawwawwawawawaawaw. My client was an innocent bystander, he was in the wrong place at the wrong time when he was captured.

Or how about "I'm sorry your honor, our witness is an undercover agent and cannot testify"

or maybe "our witness was killed in battle"?

How on earth do we convict an UBL with so many loose ends? How much violence would there be while he's held captive and subsequently tried? Do you think anyone else would die?

I think there's a reason they killed him and dumped his body

Willie brings up a good point, why dump the body? That was very odd to say the least. They should have drug him through the streets like they did the Ambassador. When you fight a war you have to fight it on the level of the one's you are fighting. You fight fire with fire.
