Probably not gonna see it. Not a huge fan of movies based on real events that are less than 2 decades old. Just find it cheap and much rather read books or research the actual events that happened. I'd watch it in 20-30 years.

good movie but was disappointed that there wasnt more background shown. There was no build up.. Just straight to the mission... The movie was good but the book was much better.... Do yourself a favor and read the book... Lone Survivor and the book on seal team 6 are 2 must reads.

I agree. If there was just one small knock on the movie, it would have been not building up the individual characters and background a little more. The way things played out during the movie, it would have made things a little more dramatic and emotional for the audience. Still, I really liked this movie...Though definitely not a good date movie. I can't imagine any woman liking it.

i undersdtand.

Still, you kill the civilian, you escape. you let him go, you have ZULU DAWN on your ass in 10 minutes.

I respect your service and honor to this code. But, won't it get you killed if they do not follow the same rules of war?

Somebody tried to make the movie even more realistic unfortunately.........

An argument between a retired police captain and a couple who was texting inside of a Florida movie theater erupted into gunfire today that left one man dead and a woman wounded.

Police said that two couples began arguing before a showing of "Lone Survivor" over one couple's text messaging.

The shooting suspect, identified as retired Tampa police officer Curtis Reeves, 71, became annoyed when a couple sitting in front of him were texting during the movie's previews, according to the Pasco County Sheriff's office.

Police said that Reeves asked Chad and Nichole Oulson several times to stop, and then Reeves left the theater. When Reeves returned, Chad Oulson asked Reeves if he reported his phone use to the theater managers, police said. That prompted an argument which ended when Reeves pulled out a gun and shot Oulson in the chest, police said.

"The victim was on his cellphone, he was texting. We believe he was making some kind of noise. This noise led to an altercation," Sheriff Chris Nocco said, according to ABC News affiliate WFTS. "During that altercation, the suspect decided to pull out a .380 and he shoots the victim."

Chad Oulson died of his wound and his wife was wounded.

An off-duty Sumter County deputy who was in the theater quickly subdued the gunman and took possession of his weapon, police said. The off-duty cop, who held Reeves until arresting officers arrived, was not immediately identified.

Tampa police identified Reeves as a former captain who retired 20 years ago after helping create the department's Tactical Response Team.

“There were a lot of heroes in that movie theater today,” Pasco County Sheriff Chris Nocco said.

A pair of nurses who were at the movie also sprang into action, performing CPR in an effort to save Oulson.

The Oulsons were airlifted to Tampa General Hospital, where Chad Oulson was pronounced dead. His wife had put her hand in front of her husband in an attempt to block the bullet. She’s now being treated at the hospital.

The shooting occurred around 1:30 p.m. today at the Cobb Grove 16 Theater in Wesley Chapel, Fla., north of Tampa.

Police noted that the shooter and victims did not appear to know one another. About 25 people were in the theater at the time of the shooting.

I hate the theatres. Too many low class people who couldnt care less about people around them. I don't suggest shooting them though.

Texting during previews is completely okay, during the movie it is not acceptable. Wahlberg was great as usual. Movie was great! Only bad thing is that I wish more people would question what the hell we were there for in the first place.

Just out of curiosity, why is it not ok to text during a movie? If your phone makes no sound, what's the issue? The light?

Yup. I understand people may have to keep their text capabilities on, but you should go outside the movie to respond, plus it's too dark in the theater to see your keyboard( at least for me). Basic manners go a long way, in my opinion. PS. Does anyone else here remember the Tooz , back in the day confronting rudeness at the movie theater?

And I don't disagree with you, I'm just trying to figure out if your sound is off, what is disturbing to other viewers if you're returning a text? Why do I need to got outside?

During the movie, the light from your phone could be disturbing to others.

I wanna see this movie but besides playing Irish Terry Conklin in Great White Hype, I don't really like Peter Berg.
